With all due respect to Margaret Mitchell - but I was hoping the Dair/Chair thing would play out like Rhett, Scarlett and Ashely.
All through, Scarlett (Blair) thinks she is in love with Ashley (Chuck) and stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the love right in front of her i.e. Rhett (Dan) - the man who steadfastly supports her through all her immature whims and fancies and always loves her and makes her realize her inner strength.. And finally in the end she does realize that she was hankering after the wrong thing but by then it just may be too late for her (we'll never know in the case of Scarlett but can only hope...) but here I thought the writers would go a step further and show us, for a welcome change, how Blair finally realizes how blind she has been and woos and wins over Dan. The End.
But how daft of me...comparing a classic to a crassic!

@kriskris True enough, heck even if they did the Veronica/Archie/Betty think I'd be happy...hey who did Archie choose in the end anyway?...lol

Was anyone else afraid Louis was going to kill Eleanor in that one scene? I got scared. But then I remembered, I'm watching Gossip Girl, and things don't go down like that on this show.
Okay, it is a big twist that Dan sent the video in. Poor Serena and Chuck.

Safran and co.need to watch some old 90210 episodes and study up. Now THAT is how you do love triangles. Those writers back in the day knew you couldn't string along both shippers bc you end up making everyone unhappy at the end of the day. Just write where the story goes naturally. People in the 90s were riveted with the Brenda/Dylan/Kelly storyline, and it's bc the writers didn't patronize us! What a waste of a potentially wonderful comparison in this decade and a waste of decent young actors.

@ Meep - I know right...so often-dismissed-just-as-a-pretty-face Nate turns out to be the smartest one after all!
@ gossipcrazy - very succinctly and accurately put.

Seriously a love triangle between DAN/BLAIR/CHUCK would have been awesome continuing from season 4, why the hell did they have to bring the Prince Gramaldiass....I just love Dan and Blair

Yes, it will come out that Dan is not all he portrayed himself to be. I'd laugh if in the end he did all this to write and sell books.

I was so excited for this episode, for all the Dan and Blair scenes...some were good but seriously the writers are doing what they are famous for, messing characters up and now its Dan who it at the end of it.

Well next weeks synopsis is Blair trying to hook two ppl up to try and save a relationship. This is obviously her trying to put Dan and Serena together while saving her relationship with Serena

I think he is hiding things from Blair, I think he sent the video and Blair said you should have told Serena where she was at. So some things may come out may not its just a guess thats all.

I am furious right now. Schwartz and Savage, why did you ever leave? Season 4 was much, much better. Dair was more compelling. Chair was more compelling. The love triangle was actually explored. The problem with this season is that Safran is trying so hard to keep Chair and Dair fans watching, and the show is suffering in the process. The unrequited hugs and shoulders to cry on of Dair are quickly becoming repetitive. The repetitive illogical "obstacles" are infuriating, especially when they continue to declare their love (repetitively). Chair, Dair, or whatever ship you sail, ALL fans are left bored and angry. This could have been the greatest love triangle on television. What a waste.

Maybe Nate needs to school these boys on how to get over the curse of the Waldorf...he seems to be able to move on from the women he`s once loved without looking back. He loved Blair and he doesn`t even seem to care that she is in this predicament, Serena was once his great love but he doesn`t even look twice or once at her these days...lol. Good old Nate. He just calls it like it is..they all lied to him...lol

@ Blargh. Real women look for that kind of passion and loyalty? What planet do these women live on? Where do you expect to find a dude in his early twenties who isn't getting laid? Anyway, I think the fact that Chuck sleeps around is makes the relationship more interesting..and to me more believable. Love and sex are not the same thing. Chuck has consistantly said he loves Blair throughout the show, from season 1. Dan has professed his love to Serena and Vanessa, Hilary Duff's character, and now to Blair. Maybe he doesn't get laid because Vanessa is no longer in the picture, but he's fickle..and if blair and dan do get together, the writers better have a scene where Serena beats the shit out of Blair.

Come on writers, don't ruin Dan's character now with the stupid video thing, I mean seriously they should stop toying with us viewers about DAIR. Let them be or don't.

@blargh Well there were a few shippers who used that scene to show Blair chose Dan because both S, C and her mother had offered to take her away. But I agree with you on the writing and how the characters, especially that of Blair are being portrayed.
