Ace Rank: Recurring Character

@JAS
I use OOC because the writers have this constant lack of consistency. While I do think Chuck's change into being a good person is within his established character, because characters aren't two-dimensional beings that stay the same for five years, it's OOC that the writers have him revert to his old ways at their convenience.

@momo83
And it's insult to injury because Chuck has this self-proclamation that he is a changed person, that he is good, and yet at almost every opportunity, he reverts back to his old ways without hesitation or without blinking. What good person goes out of his way to destroy and besmirch a professional name all because he's going after "his" girl? And the only reason he recants is because "his" girl tells him so? Forget the fact that his ever-present love for "his" girl allows him to sleep with Alessandra like some meat puppet to further his own goals, or double-face the man who essentially lead him to this pivotal moment of introspection, no, Dan's choice are "just" as bad as Chuck's.
In comparison, Dan hasn't done nearly enough to come to a fraction of Chuck Bass misdeeds.

i dont even want chuck and blair anymore nor do i want dan and blair.. its ridiculous :| all of this.. blair having 3 boys and telling them all to wait.. and even if serena said it was ok.. blair knows she loved him and kissed him infront of her.. and the whole build up to the ivy thing and this was the reaction.. the ratings show how people feel about it now :)

I'm sorry but i really hate the term OOC.....i mean we arent the writers, we arent the producers....who are we to say 'blair is OOC'? sure we are fans of the show and follow it intently because we love the characters etc but at the end of the day its up to the writers.
i even read an earlier post i think on tumblr or here (cannot remember there are so many to scroll through) but what the person said was 'the writers are ruining chuck....he has redeemed himself and now they ruined him by making him seduce alessandra...he is so OOC'...im sorry but wasnt redeeming him making him OOC?...lol why is it ok for chuck to change and redeem himself but not ok for blair to change her opinion on dan?

@momo83
The way the writers portray him as an inherently bad person that can't rise above his true nature is why the character IS a bad person. Their decisions make Bass into nothing more than just his actions.
And when comparing Dan's choices vs Chuck's, the former's does not even come one ounce difference in the scale with all of the latter's choices: violent behavior, misogynistic tendencies, Machiavellian manipulation, the constant means to an end mentality, self-serving actions more often than not, and destructive behavior that impacts not only the self but everyone else around him.

@Anonymous
My point exactly. Chuck is constantly devolving at the writer's whim that makes Chuck come off as a disingenuous as ever. At least when he was "Chuck Bass" he owned up to it, now he's this back and form wanna be Machiavellian character that always comes off short.

@Dair For Ever
I actually do support a DAIR union, although I'm more of a proponent of Season 4 DAIR then I am of Season 5 DAIR due to the writers' ridiculous and convoluted storylines that allowed season 5 DAIR to unite. This whole Louis marriage, Dan sending in the tape, the way that the environment is changing so Blair can be with Dan is OOC.
I'd rather have the struggle be that Chuck actually does change instead of this constant regression the writers have him go through, and Blair having to choose between Dan and Chuck without this Louis thing in the middle. Season 4 should've ended with Louis' departure.
actors that can act

every show on tv has the basic principle that you give your best writing to your best actors. penn and leighton and blake have the most film credits therefore these actors should get the best storylines. Ed is not better than Penn therefore he should be with Leighton.

I hate how most of the people on this site complains about Chuck not changing and reverting back to his old ways. You make it seem as if he's a bad person because sometimes he makes bad choices. If that's the case I guess Dan is a bad person too because he's made alot of bad choices as well.
And please don't get me started on Blair, alot of you think she should be with Dan because she deserves better. Please!!! The only thing that has changed about blair since the end of season four is her pointing out everyone else flaws and not looking at her own (a judgemental trait I guess she inherited from Dan). Oh and how can I forget she's become incredibly flaky, but other than that she's still very much the same blair because she's still playing games (and very much enjoys it).

While I watched the episode, I was prepared to consider changing the definition of "Sack of shit" to just see "Chuck Bass", but he did good in the end so never mind that. Loved Blair and Dan, they are so fun loving to watch at.
Blair wanted to hold hands for support, hahaha priceless. So the first obstacle(Serena) and I thought also Chuck were was checked out, but not with that end from him. So just "two" obstacle left then, the video and Chuck.

Sorry, I just can't buy Dan and Blair as a couple. I don't care that she isn't with Chuck at this point, she can be with whomever she likes. There just isn't much chemistry, witty banter yes, chemistry no. It is almost as bad as with stiff as a board Louis. I also think if she loved Chuck as much as professed a few weeks ago whe could have at least talked to him in person. Sorry, this new Blair Waldorf isn't that great and a lot less fun than old one. If Serena had treated anyone this way, most people would be all over her, but since it is Blair asking Chuck to wait only to move on with Dan it is okay. I wonder what Blair will think of Dan sending the video. Looks like Dan is still the same self righteous jerk hypocrite he has always been. He could have easily admitted by now that he sent it.
I'm glad Serena has grown up.

We know the dark & bitchy side of Blair & so does Dan.We know the judgmental & annoying side of Dan & so does Blair.We also know that Blair can be affectionate,smart & helpful & that Dan can be supportive,enterprising & loyal - some of the many great qualities both have
BUT-with Chuck,Blair was ONLY dark & scheming & manipulative - Chair propagated only that aspect of Blair. With Serena, Dan was the puppy, the sanctimonious outsider - Derena again fueled only one side of Dan's personality. Not to mention,how uni-dimensional both Chuck & Serena were as well when they were IN those relationships
Dair however is all kinds of awesome because, in every sense of the word, it is a relationship that is NURTURING. It brings out the many sides of both Blair & Dan & helps them be -not perfect 'cause who is or wants that - but the most complete version o
