I need to rant something fierce about this, let me know if you agree!

Bring back, mid-season 3 couplings! Serenate and Chair! These couples were fantastic (there was also Danessa, but Vanessa left the show so that make that difficult... unless... :D). The show works best when its couples going against others, not each other. In the first two seasons it was entertaining because they had to deal exterior problems that high school had caused, on top of their own relationship problems. And these relationship problems weren't the all-consuming-be-all-to-end-all aspect of the show. I got the impression from the show that Serenate and Chair have always been the endgame in mind, because not only are they the NJBC(non-judgmental breakfast club) but that's what felt truest to the original characters.

Season 3 finale broke everyone's heart when Chuck slept with Jenny, and never got the chance to propose to Blair. At most we thought they would get back together by the mid-season finale in season 4, the season finale at the very latest. But all of a sudden Blair can only be an independent woman without Chuck, so therefore- even though they both acknowledge that they are right for each other, and that they are meant to be together season (4x9) - they have to stay apart. Then queue the out-of-the-blue never-before-seen similarities between a couple that are just as wrong as Chuck and Serena being together, Dan and Blair.

  3. Mysterious

Blair has had a severe dislike for Dan ever since season one, the progression into friendship can be understandable considering she has grown up, but that does not mean she has to have a romantic relationship with him. (Maybe here the writers should be reminded that Serena is the harlot of the show, not Blair.)The writers are going in circles, can they really not come up with a story-line for Chair that has them working together as a couple. The reason nobody likes Louis, other than the frenglish, and are not happy with Blair's decision to marrying him (because of a "pact" with god... seriously) is because he has nothing that ties him to the main aspects of the show, the aspects that had made us fall in love with it in the first place. Other than having a title, which Blair has been able to get before(only to have her see it's Chuck she really wants- beginning of season 2), Louis is a very pointless character-otherwise known as a plot device to keep the shows strongest couple apart.

Then onto Serenate, where did they go?!?!? After 2 and half seasons of seeing Nate pine after Serena, and Serena's relationships failing, they finally get together only to have them break up by the end of the season. Thanks to none other than the Humphreys interference. How many time does Serena's relationship with Dan have to fail, before the both realize (and at some point in season 4 acknowledge- 4x12) that they won't work out. Her character is a bit of a flake for the amount of times she pushes away the right guy to "find herself". But together Serenate have great chemistry (4x7 for one of the many examples). We miss them, a great part of the first couple seasons was that Nate wanted to be with her but never could, and she was too preoccupied with being a good friend to Blair. Don't lose the anymore of your luster Gossip Girl and bring back what made this show great to begin with!

Did anyone else have a nostalgia moment where you thought, "Harriet the Spy grew up and became Gossip Girl? What?!"

This episode was funny, witty and entertaining for the most part.
Where are Blair's father (s) and Roman??? Shouldn't the writers should have at least say something about them???
This episode in many ways did not really connect for me. Yeah it was funny, but considering how the 100th episode ended I thought it would be more appropriate that this episode was more dramatic than comical. I do enjoy Blair in regurlar clothings.
For a bride who wants to leave the country as soon as possible, it makes no sense that Blair walked into the airport in her wedding gown and tiara. Dan should have gone to buy her clothes at least and let her change. They were in the airport for the longest time before she even decided to buy clothes.

So Dan is the one who sent the video??? Wow didn't really see that coming.
    Nate and the new girl...boring.
I love the Chair scene. It was definitely the best one of the night for me.
Overall this episode was bad because it:
-shows Louis and his freaking family will stay around longer
-Chair will not be getting together anytime soon
-Dair is yet be to over and done with.
No wonder why this episode was bad, it was mostly about Blair and Louis, had more Dair scenes, and just not enough of Chair in general.

as an episode it was a good light heart episode with lots of fun bits between dan & blair.
then a beautiful scene again with chuck & blair.
so as an episode it was good.
however it is not the type of show l want to watch l tune in for gossip girl each week because l want a GREAT episode with lots of twist & turn as well as seeing take downs & chuck being chuck, blair being a bitch but having a good point to being a bitch, serena being fun loving air head but having a storyline about herself & poor nate what is your purpose going to the studio each week. even rufus and lily.
l think there need to be a lot of soul searching for the writer and they need to get who was writing season one & two back or if they are still there, they need a kick up the arse & get the right mix going...
but unfortuantly now the show is bearable however by no means the true Gossip girl it is an imposter of a show..
SO THE TRUE GOSSIP GIRL SHOW PLEASE STAND UP AND COME BACK!!!!

    wow great round table...really!

DAIR DAIR DAIR. I have tears in my eyes right now. All the Dair scenes have been reviewed so positively. That's what flawlessness does.
I can't wait to see more. They already act like a married couple and that to me, screams that they're made for each other!

  11. yur

@Sasha, that's stupid to say that. Louis didn't SET himself up. He genuinely loved Blair, he gave her chances and believed in her and on the 100th episode he was so happy that he was gonna marry her that he went against his mom AGAIN for her. Don't say he set himself up that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard, when it came down to it he loved her. If you say that he's setting himself up by giving her chances, going against his family for her and being overjoyed on their wedding day than I feel bad for you cause you obviously don't know the definition of selfless love, which is what love's supposed to be. When it came down to it, he realized that even though he may have loved her selflessly, she didn't love him like that. So basically he's just saying you wanna play? Lets play. Don't defend Blair, Leighton may be great but her character is ruined right now.

  12. GG

i'm sorry but ........ DAIR FTW (ENDGAME.)

  13. sasha

@Louis and yur, but Louis set himself up to be a cuckold by overlooking betrayal after betrayal on Blair's end. That's what you get for marrying someone who you know is in love with someone else. Playing on her fears is just his way of exerting the only power he has over her.
The dowry is the most contrived thing. WTF? It's an archaic practice that doesn't even fit in with the show.
I just automatically assumed Dan sent the blast from the way that set up that scene. Georgina suggested that she was going to blackmail the person who sent in the video, so I guess we'll find it soon.

@Ninasmileface But that's not what they're doing. They're pissing everyone off, Chair fans are pissed off with Blair's ridiculous excuses and Dair fans are pissed off that they're constantly being screwed over by the writers.

@S That's because the writers ruined Chuck's character, they turned him from a fun, interesting womanizer to this pathetic, stalker-ish hung over Blair, who's been a whiny and unlikeable throughout most of this season.

@Louis and @yur Blair dose deserve to be punished after what she's putting everyone through with her ridiculous melodramatic crap.

She's put herself in this position, she chose to be in a loveless marriage after constantly cheating and lying behind his back.

  15. yur

Totally agree with Louis. Blair treated Louis like crap, while he loved her despite all her shadiness BS only for that to happen. Wow....in all honesty I say Blair got what she deserves. She cheated on him, lied to him and was only in it for HER to be happy. She knew he would treat her right and make her happy regardless if she made him happy. Blair deserves the crap she gets. The only Blair I'm a fan of is S1 and S2 Blair and when she's the other half of Dair.

Dair are great together, but as friends. I like it when Blair said that she cared about him as a friend. I don't think this will stay true for long because the writers are trying to make everyone happy at the same time, but what they really end up doing is making eveyone more angry. Chuck honestly deserves better after this episode. He's changed so much and loves Blair more than I thought would be possible and still nothing? He needs someone new that will actually care for him because Blair doesn't deserve him. I'm tired of her being the center of attention because it's been like this the whole season. I want new storylines!

  17. S

Its incredible what Dair have done to the show.
I was always a big fan but since mid S4 I'm a Gossip Girl fanatic because of them ;)

So many people are still saying Chair are endgame but at this point i just don't know how. Chuck is on the fast lane to redemption, old age and being the most boring guy on the show. Him and Blair just don't have a thing in common anymore. I honestly cannot feel this love they keep speaking of but not actually demonstrating in any real or worthwhile way.
With Dair though, I can feel that love in the most subtle of scenes and that's what an 'endgame' is made of.
    Great round table BTW.

  18. Louis

I dont like Louis at all but just saying I would be pissed if I was about to marry somebody I actually loved and at the alter I hear the person say they love someone else. Dont say that Louis didnt love her because on the 100th episode he said he was the luckiest man in the world that she choose him and he was excited going over the dance steps with his mom. I understand his anger thats all. I am not saying that what he did is in any way right. I just get how embarrassing that is

TVF ships Dair hard!Even tho I must admit that I feel a bit like Eric, I'm scared writers won't give Dair a real shot.

  20. Jonas

@Rogue well it helps if don't press the mute button when they are interacting, that could help because clearly we are not watching the same show.

  21. Anonymous

@Rogue Compared to Serena who's trying to force herself on Dan when she convenient doesn't have anyone else or Chuck who's turned from a 'changed' person to someone who is stalking/brooding/obsessed over Blair?

  22. Anonymous

@Emily and @Maribells Until the last episode it's been Blair pining after Chuck and then making some stupid excuse before bouncing back to Louis for this season...Rinse, Lather, and Repeat.

  23. Emily

I actually think Dan and Blair have become UNLIKABLE together. I liked them much better in their previous friendships/relationships.

I found this episode boring, other than Chuck and Serena's scenes together and Eleanor's scenes. I wish the show would go back to being the Serena show, honestly, because I actually LIKED Blair back then.

  24. Rogue

i really don't know why you people like dair so much.. dan is just selfish and really really annoying while blair is weak and dull..

  25. OMGQT

i thought i will never ever say it but i will. DAIR is entertaining and i start to feel sorry to Dan. Things are messing up with Chuck and Serena there. Poor Nate is not as close anymore :( he still looks hot. Louis is annoying now
