Private Practice Review: This One's for Team Jaddison

at . Comments

Private Practice took a break last week, and the series returned with the drama we’ve desperately grown to love this season.

If you are on Team Jake, it’s likely that you were thrilled with this installment. I, for one, definitely enjoyed every second of Jaddison. It was nice to see the fun and drunken side of Addie versus the super baby-focused one. Their chemistry was absolutely undeniable, and their scenes were my favorite part of "The Time Has Come."

Coop and Violet

There’s just one thing, though: Jake, the gentleman - graciously and not surprisingly - turned down Addison when she wasn’t entirely in the right state of mind. He also believes in opening doors and being the driver. He seems like an amazing guy, but I’m starting to wonder what the catch could be. Is Jake truly flawless?!? Surely, there’s got to be something wrong with him, right?

By the way, how funny was it when Addison woke up looking like a hot mess? I couldn’t help but laugh and swoon as Jake knew exactly how to take care of her.

Back at the hospital, Erica and Mason were involved in an accident after Erica suffered a seizure and blacked out at the wheel. Ultimately, Cooper finally convinced Erica to fight for her life for Mason.

Do you think that the adults will eventually tell Mason what’s going on with his mother? Is it better to prepare him for the worst or would telling him only make him worry more?

Meanwhile, Sheldon helped an army veteran experiencing PTSD reveal to his wife that he was secretly sexually assaulted. It was certainly an intriguing storyline that involved Sheldon struggling with the differences in between male and female rape victims.

As expected, the wife was shocked and confused by her husband’s actions. I was grateful that Sam helped her to see that she couldn’t possibly blame her husband for something that wasn’t his fault. Luckily, the wife was able to see clearly with Sam’s help and returned to her husband’s side.

Elsewhere: Pete was totally getting on my last nerve. He was being ridiculously annoying about Violet and her new boy toy, Scott. Even Sam recognized that his buddy was being a total hypocrite and jerk when he called him out about his one night stand.

Their separation was a mutual decision, and Pete ought to respect that. I’m betting that many of you would like to rename the Violet Annoyance Scale the Pete Annoyance Scale. The thing is, I thought they were both irritating, with the latter possibly scoring an off the charts rating.

I’m rating tonight’s installment a TWO on the VAS. For the most part, Violet didn’t do much but listen to Pete whine and give her crap about her new relationship throughout the duration of the episode. However, I was frustrated when she said that Pete let her walk out the door by not stopping her. As their relationship separation continues to spiral out of control, they both need to quit blaming each other.

On another note, it’s nice to see that Violet finally put her peephole on the front door to use. Also, I’m hoping that Scott and Violet didn’t get too far in the living room and that they moved their business to the bedroom because there’s simply been way too much bloodshed in that room.

So, what did you think of "The Time Has Come"? Are you optimistic about Jaddison or do you think Sam deserves another chance? What would your VAS and PAS ratings be?

Oh..and I hated how Sheldon's patient's wife reacted, even if she did come back. I think that plot point did a disservice to any sexually assaulted man. Any man who was watching and keeping the same secret will see the wife's reaction as a reason to keep quiet themselves. The wife reacted exactly what her husband thought she would when he was choosing suicide over getting help. Bad decision on the writer's part.

I cannot believe that Addison sleeps with Sam next next week. So stupid. Sam was never right for Addison.

LOVED Jake and Addison! Ready for them to move on and get something going together. If this were Grey's I would call him Dr. McPerfect. Would have been nice if his gentlemanly manner would have slipped just long enough for a kiss, at least... just to remind Addison what is right under her nose!

I loved Jaddison too. I can't get enough. Hopefully we see more development between the two before Spring hiatus.
I honestly don't really care about whether or not Erica dies. I just don't seem to feel the emotional pull. I just hope that the GA & PP crossover can actually show me something that seems to be missing. All I can say is that Charlotte is actually the only enjoyable thing to see, as I love her bonding/emotional depth with Mason/Cooper.
I liked Sheldon's case and they way it was handled. I just wish that one of them would at least be a multi-arc so he could get a storyline. I'm sick of them being all about work. I want personal stuff.
I can't really rate the VAS, as I feel biased about it. I'm actually liking Violet a lot this season. I'm glad she told Pete to shove it. It's none of his business. I praised Sam's words. Honestly, Pete, you don't get a say.
As for Sam's sister coming into the mix, I look forward to this. Finally, something for Sam that's not Addison!

The thing is, I really don't think that Pete and Violet's separation was a "mutual decision" by any means. I think Violet made it pretty clear she didn't want out, but she wasn't going to force Pete to stay in a relationship he hated. She let him go because he wanted to leave - but if it was up to her, they would not be separated right now. In the episode where they did break up, the emotions on her face and the expressions she was using made it pretty clear she was devastated this was happening, and she was right to retort back at him in this episode that Pete didn't stop her from walking out the door when she made it so obvious she wanted him to stop her. What she said tonight was all true... Can't wait to see more of Jaddison! You're right, though, he must have *some* flaw.... he can't always be as perfect and gentleman-like as he was tonight...

Team Addison and Jake

I loved this eppy. Finally Erica is seeing the light, but dont lie to Mason. My motto is always tell your kids the truth. Loved the male rape s/l especially in light of what happened to Charlotte last yr I liked how they showed the dbl standard some ppl have towards men being sexually assaulted. IA with you on Pete I usually love him but tonight he got on my nerves and worse he made me feel bad for Violet which is unforgivable since I cant stand her. Cant wait to see Sam's sister none other than Anika Noni Rose so excited to see what happens there. Lastly, Jaddison Awww I love them. Jake was amazing Im Sam/Addison lover from waay back but if they keeps this up I maybe a Jaddison convert. Only one complaint: I need more CharCoop scenes with just them not talking about or hanging out with Mason what happened to my hot funny couple?

It was good. VAS 0.5 and PAS 6. The case of sexual abuse was well run. I get upset a little Cooper. Jaddison please and to focus on Sam's sister is very promising. Christina Thanks as always assertive.
