1) This episode blew monkey balls....none. 2)Dumber Damon decision...Damon is so full of raw emotion, it was all about Elena so obviously saying he loved her. She is still to immature and spineless, she needed time and one day will regret being a shallow biatch. 3) No way any of the kids knew though moves w/out rehearsing. 4) As with everything lately I'm not buying shiet and I'm rackin up dough lol. Seriously. 5) Finn is boring so I guess Kol. Looks like I might stop watching soon. This show is everywhere now

Their last name is Mikaelson because in the old days, that's how son's determined their last name, by what their father's name was. Peterson, Johnson, etc...

I don't know, probably the scene with Rebekah and Kol are getting ready for the party. Kol rocks!!

I didn't think going after Kol was stupid. He was saving Matt. He's dropped the L-bomb like what, 5 times now? I'm pretty sure Elena already knows. So probably Rebekah. If he really did want Elena, well, he just blew it. Again.

There should be a 4th one, how was Elena able to get a gown like that on short notice?? That, is indeed, the most unbelieveable thing..

Klaroline: Are you buying it at all?
Ans: As @SuperIdole stated previously, Caroline's intent was pretty clear which was that she wasn't interested. Of course, what she does is entirely different what she is thinking, because she's taken some of Elena's attributes this time and decided that beneath that exterior Damon like persona lies possibly a redeemable person that just wants to be love? Hence, the judgmental casting of Klaus's actions and attending the event for Matt safety as well as Klaus's advances.
Which newly awakened Original made a better first impression: Kol or Finn?
Ans: Kol, but only because he seemed to recognize Damon from somewhere and it peaked my interest.

Harder to believe: Esther wants to murder her own children, Elena and Caroline know how to do a centuries-old waltz or Matt lives in Mystic Falls with no health insurance?
Ans: 1000 years of planning on a purgatory side of ghost-ville and the best plan is to kill her own children. How about reversing the spell that made them vampires? You have the ashes of the White oak tree so why can't the tree be re-grown and used in a spell to reverse the vampiric curse? Is there magical beans that can regrow the tree?
That said, aren't Quarter Backs suppose to be taken cared of anymore? Where's the health care plan?
Dumbest thing was probably going after Kol, but who can blame Damon? And I dare say that he saved Matt’s life. As for Damon and Rebekah - yeah, it totally made sense after the night they've both had. She's not so bad and who doesn't love her bitchiness? She's like a Caroline-type version of Katherine.
Speaking of Caroline - I loved how she shut Klaus out. If she wasn't under his skin already, that would totally do it. Although I don't understand why so many people are like "she would never ever do that". First of all - she went to the ball not because he asked her, but because Elena and Matt were going. Obviously she wouldn't stay away knowing that they are in the house full of Originals. And second of all - it's not like she jumped in Klaus' bed, she just talked to him. She has such a big heart, she always seeks good in people, so in my opinion the fact that on occasion she listens to Klaus totally fits her character. And that brutal honesty probably made him respect her.
Ok, I'm done. I officially don't care anymore, if Elena gets killed or not. "Maybe that's the problem"? WTF? Is that really her response to "I love you"? The writers are clearly trying to make us hate her. The guy stayed with her through all of this shit and she’s mad because he didn't want her to go alone? You have got to be kidding me! And five seconds later she's all in the same old "you have to feel something" crap with Stefan. Why does Damon always get the worst shit from everybody?
Now that I’ve let my anger out, I have to say those Originals really know how to throw a party.
Favourite scene - Damon taking on Kol. "Easy on the hand, guy is a quarterback" :)
Mama Original is in killer mode. Great. That is just what we need. I can't believe Elena betrayed Elijah. One decent guy in this entire family. And he actually likes her. I hope he didn't buy that lame lie of hers.
Finn's willingness to die is interesting. Kol is a first class asshole, so naturally I love it.

Ans: I'm leaning towards Damon drooling when Elena came to the prom. It was almost like he was his first date to a prom. But he does it so well.

Ans: It's been more than a year and a bit since they've been in a weird 'friend zone.' i.e. they been a platonic friendship for 2 seasons and 1 year of courtship. So I was expecting a nicer answer. He then saves Matt from Kol and still gets rejected. Elena's reaction was pretty much an instant rejection. Stelena fans rejoice!!

Its there first episode so I can't say unlike some people who called them generic after the first episode.
Mikaels last name isn't Mikaelson, it's whatever his dad name was and "son" on the end. That's the way it worked in the old world and it's a choice if we want to in some Scandinavian countries.

Finn has way better presence and looks fitting a vampire, however both characters were VERY generic thanks to subpar writing surrounding them.

1. Stefan "killing" Damon that was so bad ass.
2. definitely #2. He has no tact and I really don't know reaction he was looking for and btw Elena definitely meant it.
3. I think there some strings attached to Esther's killing as she is technically the mother of all vampires. It also possible Matt's parents (or Mom) did not have health insurance as plenty of people actually don't in the US. The waltz which was possibly the worst waltz I have seen takes the cake, not because it not believable but because no one were even graceful. Need more dane lessons.
4. No. I have really no idea what is going in these scenes when Klaus speaks to Caroline, he really does have a split personality and the fact Caroline would even soften disappoints me. I mean no offense Caroline shouldn't have went in the first place and other than Klaus bringing it up, I wouldn't had known her dad just died or that they were close by the way she was in this episode. Definitely halfassly fan pandering.
Damon: She's strong and crafty and you'll die. Elena: At least I'll die trying.
