It was interesting to see Schmitt before the arrival to the apartment. It was almost like Seinfeld before Kramer. An Obese father (yes it does happen) watching his kids bicker to the new house. Think Ryan Reynolds in the fat suit.
Lesson learnt, Schmitt IS the glue of the gang. Almost like that Black substance in that coffee maker which was either sludge glue, bitumen or that Evil Black Smoke monster in Lost.
As for Secret of the Weekly grocery budget? Ebay? Weekly Sperm Donations? Magic? At the Mysterious "Back," of the store?
