I did like this episode overall.. and I'm glad because when i saw the promo originally I didn't understand what this Sage woman had to do with anything, so I am glad it turned out to be just a side note in the storyline. I missed seeing Klaus this week, and Elijah who I dont understand why he left. Tonights episode really showed me it could be more about friendship, family, then boy girl love. I Think at this point im team salvatore. I don't elena with either brother anymore. Even if she picked stefan, it would be overlly complicated because of Damon, and her picking Damon is never going to happen.. we should just steer clear of the "romance aspect" for a bit. I like it better like this

my only complaint is about dr fell.. she had the diary, she knew about the ring, why did she suddenly have a change of heart and tell Sheriff Forbes there was a "mix up" she couldve done that earlier.. and if that was her suspicion, why didn't she tell elena straight out???? lol I mean i get it was the storyline's way of adding suspicion to her character, but c'mon there are some major loop holes.. especially since everyone involved knows about the vmps, and the ring.

I feel bad for Alaric...he's had a tough run.
Best line of the night was Damon 'Dear diary, I met a squirrel today...'.
Just because Matt Davis was cast on another show doesn't mean he's leaving. I love how no one reads before they make that assumption. They've already said that he can do both shows. Ugh...whatever.
If you love seeing brotherly bonding then you should be watching Supernatural. Two smokin' hot brothers kicking ass across the country...very nice...trust me.

It's cool ep. but it could be better :)....now..what Elena said to Matt about Damon? :(( I didn't understand her, as english isn't my native language.
While I found this episode good, I was absolutely shocked to find out that Alaric was the killer! Bravo TVD writers for delivering on that front and the flashbacks were cool I felt the absence of Klaus and Caroline tremndously, thats what stoped me from loving this episode. If Klaus gets killed off I am wondering how the show will keep my interest since klaus and the originals are my favorite Part of the show right now!!!!

@ Bored Now.
I honestly don't understand why you continue to watch a show you don't enjoy. When there is nothing on tv that I actually enjoy watching, I do something else with my time - read a book, take the dog for a walk, do the dishes, chat with a friend, etc. Why waste hours of your life that you will never get back being bored, watching a show that you do not like? It doesn't make sense ...

Ok so, not a bad episode, but not great either. I definitively like the brothers's bonding scene because having a sibling myself I know how important that relationship over anything else. Like I said before that was probably the only scene I was looking forward to in this episode and it was well shown. Now as for everything else...well, the thing with murderer - yes, shocking to find out it was ACTUALLY Alaric murdering the council members and that it was all about the Gilbert ring, however, I had this feeling a long time ago that the person committing murders is a puppet for someone else..so I did not have an OMG, I never saw this coming moment. This story line with Alaric being the one who commits murders and being thrown into jail sort of reminds me of the books when Matt was accused of raping Caroline. Interested in finding out how things will progress from here and from the promo and the pictures it looks like Meredith is going get either killed or badly hurt. As for Matt and Elen

Here is a little spoiler;
According to Cassidys recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, it’s actually a different Original who’s Sage’s true love. Finn (Casper Zafer), the only O.V. to side with his witchy mama has the tough vamp’s heart… and she wants it back.
I miss more Tyler than Klaus and in Vampire Diaries.

I really really really love Damon and Stefan together and i absolutly agree with Julie who told during the PaleyFest that the silent and unadmitted brotherly love is the epic stuff of this TV show. And i`m gettin sick already by both fanbases. The STELENA part is much more agressiv where the other is so full of potential for the writers to drain them out, because they want DELENA so badly. It`s already obvious that the descision will not be make before this Show is over. So please calm down about which Salvatore Elena love most. I`m pretty sure it will change episode by episode. This is the function of a triangle
@Bored now..you`re a little bit pathetic to waste your time with watching a tv show you obviously don`t like..I´m sorry for you

oh boo hoo, so Alaric killed a couple of people, so what, it seems to be the normal initiation in this town, at least he was out of his mind at the time which is more than i can say for most of the characters in this show, i mean come on! Damon tried to kill Elena's BROTHER not knowing that he had his (now creepy) ring on and still she forgave him and we still love him and he seems okay with it too. Stephan is a killing machine now and we and Elena also still love him, Caroline helped kill a couple of cops when they were torturing Stephan and Damon, nobody is holding that against her, Tyler killed to activate the curse and then some, again we are all okay with it, not to mention the numerous times that all the characters killed the supernatural creatures which were also once human and if you look at Stephan and Damon and just as human still only with extra powers.

shows i stop watching
1]buffy stop mid season 4
2]dollhouse stop season 2 episode 2
3]one tree hill stop after season 6
the list goes on
Vampire Diaries has just lost it's charisma. I no longer feel enchanted with the show.
And Stefan and Damon's bromance sucked outright during the entire episode. The scenes felt so forced
The episode had no purpose except to retcon, FINALLY RETCON out the damn rings the entire fanbase has been hating for two years already.
Otherwise it was like a black hole of boring, sucking out any fun or excitement and ultimately, yet again, just a filler.
I would rather we have spent the episode SEEING how BOnnie and Abby and Caroline deal with the problems they have, than watch holy Mary Sue Elena Gilbert flail around pointlessly with mister cardboard matt donnovan, while melissa(who needs to GTFO out of this show) tries to pretend she can act and becky stands around being useleess..

Something felt very off about this episode, and I think it was Damons dialogue throughout....what this episode also showcased in this viewers eyes was how boring the show will be once Klaus and the originals have been removed from the picture.I actually missed sissy ass Klaus today lol.Strange episode indeed and not very good.
To me, this episode was a filler. Sure it might have been interesting at some parts, but there were moments where I was craving for a Klaus dose (**), moments where i was bored... specially because the excessive amount of flashbacks!
And thank god, it picked up those last few minutes!
I definitely like that for a change Alaric is becoming the centre of the story. But since this story is most probably going to be front and centre for a while, i hope it picks up, however i have a feeling it won't.
Praise yourselves people, i have a feeling Jeremy is coming back! (woohoo)
Back to winy Stefan? love it! because basically i still find Stefan annoying, and now even more, and Damon's character has grown so much: no longer as reckless, nor as sensitive. He's now the better combination of his 2 past phases.
DID ANYONE ELSE THINK MATT& ELENA WERE ABOUT TO KISS IN DR.FELLS CLOSET?

Not the best paced or edited but plenty of interesting scenes. We found out some cool info: Sage is over 900 years old! Alaric is the serial killer, Damon and Stefan hadn't seen each other for almost 50 years. Plus we got to see another Forbes finally!

It did occur to me that Alaric's MO sounds very similar to the 'bad' men that Aunt Jenna said she attracts.
I also thought Elena's one way usage of Matt reminded me much of Book Elena's portrayal. It's selfish but consistent with how Elena only is attracted to Damon and Stefan. Did I see any sparks. A bit, but not a lot.
Loved that Damon's one line quips were back. "The Order of The Universe has returned..." I didn't like the sappy Damon. For me that was Out of Character (OOC). Nevertherless, enjoyed the brotherhood ride. I wonder if Stefan's obsession with afixing heads was from linked to being a Ripper or a game of Jenga?
Overall, it was sappy, maybe too sappy for me episode. I suspect it was the viewer who needed their weekly 'A Fix' of Kluas.
As for the Crow reference again, it was hilarious. Well, in this week's Secret Circle was an orgy of crows and they'll drop dead next week...
