Lost Girl Review: She Took Us

at . Comments

Last Monday, Lost Girl ended its first season with an explosion that altered the Fae world.

The season two premiere, ""Something Wicked This Fae Comes," picked up three weeks later and the situation had only worsened.

Bo Must Stop Fae's Plan

With Dyson missing, the Light Fae Council decimated, and Under Fae out loose, Bo had her hands full working to restore order with Trick, Hale and Kenzi. But the real story was aftermath from the sacrifices made to save Bo from her mother.

Did Dyson really lose his love for Bo? Their reunion was quite memorable. What a punch! What doesn't make sense is if Dyson no longer cared about Bo, why didn't he tell her the truth right then?

He clearly remembered that the Norn took his love for her, but is it gone? When he held his distance or gave her the brush off, it wasn't because he was ambivalent about her, rather he was protecting both of them. Those weren't the actions of someone without love.

And what about the kiss? Did it work, Disney Princess style? Unfortunately, Hale's recommendation didn't seem to be effective. Dyson and Bo are meant to be together and in the Fae world magic can be overcome.

When he finally revealed the truth, he told Bo, "... making it impossible for me to feel anything for you ever." But he didn't look like someone without feelings, did he? Hopefully, this season will be the journey of them finding their way back to each other.

I'm more worried about what the outcome will be from Trick using his blood to save Bo. He thought the price for his sacrifice was the finding of the Sword of Agros and the breaking of the Heart Stone. Sadly, it appears the repercussions will be something much worse.

Bo saw the Nain Rouge, in the form of a little girl, who warned her about an upcoming disaster. What did Trick do? The little girl warned, "Something old and terrible has awoken and it is coming straight for you."

And, with that, the stage is set for the second season of Lost Girl. Will Bo and Dyson be able to find their way back to each other? Or will Bo move on from Dyson with someone else, perhaps Lauren? And, what is this evil that is coming for Bo? The troubles in the Fae world have just begun.

"More views is the main goal of any TV show, so even if Bo and Lauren might have a fling at one point they surely won't be together for long."
Actually, the show is Canadian. Gay marriage is legal here in Canada and homophobia is actually frowned upon. Rest assured a female/female relationship will not be a problem, especially considering it airs on cable - nevermind the pairing is insanely popular. Bo and Lauren is anything but a fling, but I guess US viewers will realize that as season 2 progresses.

"I think they'll end up together, it's what the audience wants".
Hardly. The vast majority of the Lost Girl fanbase actually root for Bo and Lauren instead. Lauren is a huge, huge popular character - which led to Zoie Palmer's promotion in season 2 and increase in screen time and actual importance. But because Showcase isn't ballsy enough to have Bo end up with a woman, they are either going to go with a polyamorous relationship between Bo, Dyson and Lauren or have her end up alone.

The sucess of the show came its 1st season, which centered around Bo & Dysons relationship. An intense, steamy, haunting, beautiful, dark, mysterious, can't get enough of the two of them together!! The relationship that hooked me and kept me tuning in for more and the main reason I tune in to watch Season 2 with hopes that Bo & Dyson are always as one together!

She isn't "meant to be" with anyone, but in most fantasy TV shows the main character often defeats their nature and/or what they're "meant" for.
Bo is strong, she actually takes care of herself, and get along while Dyson works on his new emo personality (watch him start cutting himself, I'd die from laughter). So I can't agree more with, "though I agree with the reviewer that it didn't seem that he had no feelings left for her, he just seemed muted and sad." -DeAnn

Dyson is just...too sexy to get over.

Um, Bo may be a succubus, but she was raised as a human, and she loves Dyson, just as Dyson loves her, so I believe they were meant to be together and hopefully will be together again, once Bo locates that nasty Narn and gets Dysons feelings for her back, though I agree with the reviewer that it didn't seem that he had no feelings left for her, he just seemed muted and sad. I adore their love scenes together because they are good for one another, just as Kenzi and Bo are good for each other as friends. Lauren is still too much of a wimpy slave doc to the Ash to really be any good in a relationship with Bo. All in all, though, I enjoyed this ep, though I am sad about Dyson. Still, I loved Kenzi and Hale getting more screen time and I am fascinated by what is going to happen with Trick and his consequences for helping Bo. This show is AWESOME

I know there has to be a reason that we saw the recall of the Nord a couple times, she took his passion for Bo, but that doesn't necessarily equate with love for her and I am willing to bet that Dyson being what he is just doesn't recognize it and wouldn't be surprised if there is some forced time with Lauren to explain what this new feeling is. I am going to guess that Dyson is right on one thing, that is the bad consequence of Trick's using his magic (basically if Trick had decided to use it earlier, Dyson wouldn't have made that decision, Eva might have returned to their side, Bo would have a clan designation of being on the light side (assuming it is what side your family is born to, since Eva being Dark Fae was a later in life choice), and as her human upbringing is almost stronger than her Succubus nature, she would have chosen to commit herself fully to Dyson, further buoying up their side).

@Mike Yeah if she was with one person, he/she would die lol

Um, Bo is a Succubus. She isn't "meant to be" with anyone.

Love this show i've actually seen all of season 2 and its awesome! Just keeps getting better n better! I love Kenzies spunk n humor! Great show!!

Lost Girl Season 2 Episode 1 Quotes

I heard you needed me. I came.

You want to be helpful -- call Dyson. Tell him to grow a pair and come home. I'm tired of getting her emergency take out.
