Fantastic season final! I loved the surprises involved, with Castle telling Kate how he loved her, and her being mad, and torn, and finally realizing someone out there is there for her and cares/loves her, which he pleaded her not to follow this crime, _and_she found out how much she wished for Castle on the roof! Somebody below mentioned they were disapointed about Ryan telling Gates about Espo and Beckett, but if not for him, she would be splattered on the street... and Castle was at Alexis' graduation. Does anyone hear PI firm starting up, with Kate, Espo, and Castle doing investigating for hire? Now he doens't need an honorary badge either! Super way to start out the fall, with new career paths, and fact that the duo love each other! They are super on the screen.
Bravo!

I agree with Ash. When Castle and Kate FINALLY got together it is so hot I had to throw ice water on the TV! And they proved that less is more. The look on Nathan’s face said it all ... the yearning, the love, OMG, the emotion was smokin’.The kisses were hungry, but not gross. Sooo good. I hope they keep the relationship going and they simply bicker like the slightly dysfunctional couple that they are! I love them together. And, finally, Kate looked vulnerable, the one trait we haven’t gotten to see. Yes, I noticed that she reached out to Castle on the ledge. Gave me goosies (as JLo says!). Very satisfying episode. Now if only I can make it to fall without serious withdrawal symptoms!

Whoa! Good catch, that's definitely the same guy! Maybe he was just keeping track of her? That is nuts! Awesome finale!

Also, they said it's not dream. I've read a bunch of AM interviews today that states that was real.

@joyeful I agree!
FYI, Nathan was on Jimmy Falon on Friday night and he looked like he's already lost some weight, he looked great! Plus he was hilarious as usual:)

The show last night was WOW!!! It was great. all I wish is that those people that complain about the writing should go watch the stupid reality shows because obviously you have idea of what entertainment really is. You probably couldn't write any better. I came into this show at the beginning of this season and had to go back and buy the previous three seasons. It is an awesome show and keep it up. I love Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. They are a great duo and had me coming back the pilot episode of season 1. I hope Espo and Ryan can work out their problems, they are great together.

Bravo, Bravo, Ringraziarla molto! A well done ending with the perfect cliff hunger. The battle to save Kate is just beginning, and there are more complicated characters coming our way to interact with these two, for one Castle' father, and possibly a brother. There interpersonal relationships that are being reshaped also - Alexi, Martha, and Kate' father. Things are about to get really interesting, including what's next for Kate.

Kyra you are NUTS!!! If you don't watch the show don't make comments. This episode was fantastic!! I am so glad they finally got together. I don't like it when they drag it out forever. Now they have to see where they are in their life and what they can do next. The old problem of her mother's death is heating up again and they will have to deal with that. Fillion looks just great to me.

?? for everyone. Did you all notice that it was filmed in a slight cast of yellow that maybe it was a dream of either Beckett or Castle? And maybe one of them is going to "wake up" at the start of next season? I hope not because it is about time!!!

I'm gonna assume that kyra is trolling, but it REALLY angers me when people call Fillion unattractive just because he's put on weight. So I'm just gonna let it out this one time.
First of all - What kind of superficial BS is that? A person puts on weight and all of a sudden they're repulsive? They're no less of an actor or human being because of a few pounds.
Second of all, Fillion couldn't be unattractive if he tried. The man could charm the Nazi out of Hitler, and could make chemistry with cardboard. He's friendly, self-effacing & joyful, and people who call him unattractive just because he's heavier just piss me off. Should he lose weight? Probably. But that doesn't make him unattractive.
Thirdly - he's OLD?!? He's only 41!! Honestly!
If someone had said the same thing about a female actress, everyone would be up in arms. Ridiculous. I'm a 30 year old woman and I put on 30 lbs when I went through cancer treatment, and I was still smoking hot. So there.

I'm not even ashamed to admit I cried when Castle and Beckett hooked up. WOW, it was so well acted and scripted... And everything I hoped for from 'Always'. And this just killed me: "What do you want, Kate?" "You. All I want is you." And then when she was kissing him and punctuating the kisses with "I'm sorry, Castle,I'm so sorry..." That was pure gorgeous swoon material. I've always thought it, but after That Scene I am certain - Caskett is the best TV couple I've ever seen. Stana and Nathan have SO much chemistry, oh my god! They are either the best actors ever or they actually have that much chemistry in real life. Whatever it is, I thought my screen would catch on fire!
As a die-hard Castle fan, 'Always' lived up to every expectation. I happy-cried. It was embarrassing. But oh well, because CASKETT HAPPENED. Sorry, fangirl moment. :)
The only part I wasn't happy about was when Espo ignored Ryan. I hate it when the duo fight. :/ Ryan is just such a sweetie - does anyone else g

I haven't read all the comments, but besides the ending being exactly everything I'd hoped for, has anyone talked about the fact that when Beckett was hanging off the side of the building, she heard CASTLE telling her to hang on, but when her team pulled her up, he wasn't there? Talk about a spiritual connection!! Even when he's not with her he's with her, which made the ending even more beautiful. Good job!

Nathan has gained some weight... actor's physique change, so does ours. What should not change is the quality of their acting - it should "grow", mature and improve with time. He delivers Castle's persona better than ever - in so doing it seems he will never grow old...and that is what Kate finds irresistible, even though it drives her crazy. Some in the entertainment business keep their "imperfections" (Streep's nose, Cindy Crawford's mole, Kojack's boldness...). With each episode all of them give us a little piece of their soul and that, I hope will keep GROWING, and GROWING :)
WOW! What a fantastic episode! Alexis is coming into her own (she is such a pretty young lady!). I just loved the lines at the end of the show when Castle says: "What do you want?" and Beckett says "You." What a hot scene. Especially emotional was when Castle was telling Beckett what he loved about her. I'm wondering if Gates is in on this?? Anyone feel the same? A great season finale.

I'm sorry if everyone can not see what a great actor Nathan Fillon is...even if he has gained a little weight. I hear in my head the very over weight drunk looking at the girl with a few extra pounds saying "she would look really good if she lost a little weight." Acting has nothing to do with weight and last nights show was the best acting ever. Nathan is still a good looking man and Katic is a truly beautiful woman. Castle's expression and the tears in his eyes when he told Beckett that he loved her was the very best. Yes, I am a Bones fan too and I do hope that the writers did not fall back on the old dream storyline.

This was the best eposide ever!!!!! It was so intense, and I just love Castle's expressions and his character. Beckett did an awesome job last night also. The whole cast is great. Seeing the two come together at the end was amazing........
What can I say I love the show and have watched it from the beginning and read all the books. I am true fan of the show and felt all the emotions last night.....Beckett is a lucky woman!!!!!!!
Great finale of a good season of a great show. But now there are a lot of questions about the show itself? Is this the beginning of the end for Castle the show?

Um, we’ve seen Mr. Smith before – a couple of times – where have you been?
A great moment for me (one of many with this episode) was when Kate went back to the swing set. That’s where we started the season – with her and Rick sitting on that swing set and her telling him about the wall inside of her. Her returning to it and making the final decision to knock it down took us, and them, full circle. Awesome.
And I’m I the only one who thought that when Rick opened his front door that he was going to get shot?! I thought this is the cliff-hanger for this year. It’s all been set up – Alexis is parting with her friends, Martha has left town, Kate’s wondering around somewhere – they’re going to shoot Castle!! So imagine my surprise when that scene went in a whole other direction! I need some ice water please. LOL!

This was a case of curiosity. I never watched an episode of Castle but i was a fan of Nathan Fillion in Firefly. So, because everyone was so exited about these two hookin up i watched this ep. What i saw was a really beautiful woman kissin a guy who´s know far away from being attractiv and much out of form and weight. There was no sparkle and even no hotness. I really don`t get where people see chemistry here. Okay, okay, you`re right, i didn`t followed them for four seasons. But these guy is so old and out of form, so i wouldn`t wish my biggest enemy to kiss this guy..ughhh..and i know what i`m talkin about, i`m 40 years..So no chance, that my opinion is based on youthness..

Really liked the episode last night. I was wondering if I imagined it or not (from his dialogue with the Jennifer Beals character), but isn't Rick's father going to be brought in as a character, perhaps as the elusive Mr. Smith?

AWESOME - This group is so unbelievable I went ahead and pre-ordered the 5th Season of Castle before watching the season finale based on trust. The actors - all of them - are amazing. Stana & Nathan...I could adopt you both; keep up the fabulous work you are doing. Everyone involved from a to z - thank you for giving us what at first sight seems to be light entertainment and yet is anything but. Again, THANK YOU and continued success ;)

I said it so many times last night, I will say it once more "gasp, no, what, YES" Such an intense episode I felt like I was on a roller coaster from the first moment.
I think Beckett's resignation will stand for now (maybe turning into a leave of absence) so she can do her own digging. Ryan did right, the "bad" cops started out going on their own to fix what they thought was wrong. We don't want our crew doing the same thing. Plus if he wasn't there, Kate would just be a mark on the sidewalk.
Next season will definitely start out strong
