I don't like how people were saying that there are funnier comedies than modern family. Just because a show doesn't make you laugh doesn't mean it's not a funny show! Also every comedy has its own style!
For this season, I laughed, got bored, forgot what an episode was about, but that comes with any show. There were a lot of predictable moments! And I was expecting something different!
This finale was everything I hoped for! For the most part it wasn't predictable! It made my love for this show grow more! I hope they take a good look at this episode and build with it!

My only complaint: Hayley always gets all the attention because she is the problem child. Just because Hayley does everything well does not mean she is not insecure and needs more attention.

I agree about it being a mediocre season (for such a great show this season wasn't their best) but this episode made up for it all. I didn't expect to like this episode so much, I was laughing, crying, cheering. I literally squealed when Gloria said she was pregnant. Best episode of the season, if not the series.

I know that Ed Oneal bombed at Joe Friday in redo of Dragnet which in itself was a bad idea. But he is great actor and would love to see him get his own show in a dramatic lead.
Then at the end when Luke was giving Claire and Phil the mail he was hiding and it was a run down of all the things that happened to them that season...That was a cute.
Alex's grad date was too funny, I loved when Phil said he wanted a picture with more flash and the kid posed! Then when Claire asked Alex if she needed her hair touched up and the kid thought it was him she was talking too.
As soon as Jay told Manny he was too old to look after a young kid I knew that Gloria was pregnant!
Then the whole telenovela that they had at the hospital. That was funny but then they went and made it sad by not giving Cam and Mitchell the baby, the scene with them in the field was sweet and sad, but I think they are only meant to have Lily.
I also like when Jay danced with Lily onstage.
I love this show and last night solidified that for me! There was a perfect mix of laughs, tears, sweet moments and one shocker at the end!
I laughed through most of the episode, especially anything that had to do with Dylan, he had 3 of the best moments of the episode: One when Haley said "After graduation I will be moving in with some one " and Dylan said "And his name is ME"
Then when he said "I am making tshirts now, they are going to be HUGE...and medium and small"
Then when he asked Phil if he had a tux he could borrow and Phil said it was from his wedding and it was double breasted Dylan said" So am I"
Then at the end when Luke was giving Claire and Phil the mail he was hiding and it was a run down of all the things that happened to them that season...That was a cute.

I'm a full grown man, and I was in tears when Jay and Lilly were on stage. I mean we sort of knew it was going to happen but nothing prepares you for that moment. This scene encapsulates all of the reasons I love this show so much. It has heart. Even the contrary personalities have genuine affection for each other.
While the hospital scene was funny, that underlying horror was waiting, wasn't it? Through all of the melodrama, you could feel Cam and Mitchell's hearts breaking. Awesome show. Best sitcom ever.

I totally did not see Gloria's pregnancy coming!! It never, ever occurred to me that she and Jay might have a baby. I agree, MF had a mediocre season, but this finale was great! It's hard to say who Manny is funnier with: Jay or Luke? Anyway, I'm really looking forward to next season now!

oh my gosh! the final cliffhagger was stunning, im sure that is not gonna help cam and mitchell beside increase jealous.
leaving a kid with 2 grandparents (jay and manny) was hilarious, i suspect that both are gonna pass out when they hear the news from gloria.

Fantastic episode! Loved it, and like you, I also loved how it made me laugh and then feel sad all in one episode. Haven't done that in years. And I loved the Spanish soap opera type scene at the hospital; That was hilarious!
Overall, the season was not as good as the last two seasons, but I still loved it, and I can't wait for more next year.

Best episode of the season hands down. It had everything and I am literally dying for the show to start again in the fall. Better make do with reruns and my box sets until then.
