    ****from prevoius post****
That's the best the writer could do? Was that supposed to be amusing? It stunk, and it only made DiNozzo look cheap when it came to his friend Palmer. The writer missed the boat there, Bigtime. As far as McGee's voice -everyone knows it's changed. Just go back to any season before 8 and you will clearly see the difference. I'm not sure why, but it is noticeable. I'm not sure how I feel about S10 yet. I would rather that S10 be the last one, than to keep having these great characters tossed about in the wind by the lackluster script writing.

I have been a big fan of this show from the beginning. I don't care for the Dr. Ryan and Gibbs pairing. I don't see them together. I am sick of "cliff hangers" on all shows. I can hardly wait until they come back for season 10.

  3. Ronxray

Great ending, but my thought process said "contract negotiations", who will survive???

I agree about the finale leaving much to be desired; last year's was terrible. But this one wasn't quite as bad as Pyramid, I do agree. NCIS is #1 for the time being because of the CAST!! Certainly NOT the "Writing". The writing has NOT been consistently good for a very long time (the awesome "PAH" from earlier seasons is not there), but NCIS's editorial staff is blessed with a GREAT cast that can COMPENSATE for any mundane writing w/ their wonderful talent. Fans tune in to see the CAST they love. But make no mistake: if the WRITING continues to slide in its current direction with the many "Holes" in the storylines & missed opportunities to follow up on randomly introduced topics..then the Viewership WILL decline as well, because fans will feel a disconnect. It's actually already happening. Some of these characters, I'm not sure if I even know them anymore. What are they doing to TONY??!! He's back to being Immature again?? A Regifted film?? SERIOUSLY?? That's the best the write

Loved it .. And praying that ducky will survive .. The show will not be the same without him.. and I want Ziva and Tony together ... love this show ... Sad it reminded me of a sad part of our us history... OK fed building booming in the 90 and 9/11 it's just reminds us how anything can happen.. Living in NYC it is on our minds every time u take the train...

Somebody has to get to Ducky and save him for next season, as well as the rest of the NCIS crew.. This is a great series, can't get enough of it watch all the reruns nightly.. Also wish they would bring back the Unit. missed it when it first came out, now also a good series to follow,, Walt K.

#Nightowl52 oops.. I guess they did know there was a bomb... since that's why they were evacuating.. so yes Tony and Ziva should have been on the stairs.
And Dr Ryan.. I guess they were trying to convey just how really, really bad her ex-husband is, but I agree. She crumbled much to quickly I'm guessing they just wanted her to exit Gibbs life, asap. It was very strange to see her in a panic though, totally out of character.

That is the best show on TV! I think if I had to lose any of them I Would stop watching the show !

We couldn't be more upset about Ducky if he were really our family. He was so close to the water; which way was the tide going?

And what about McGee? I wouldn't want to lose him either. Or has someone decided he's been protected too long?

This was upsetting. And now we have to wait all summer? I'm liable to have a stroke of my own!

Good season finale but not great. Why do I say that? Every episode was a little disjointed and more than a tad far fetched. Dearing as a super villain, comic book-style, just isn't believable. Nobody other than a real super villain is that good. And just when I'm getting accustomed to Jamie Lee Curtis and starting to accept that she might be one of the good guys and maybe all right as a match for Gibbs, she hauls ass out of there. The feds would not allow a judge to be bought off - she's too powerful. Ain't gonna happen to someone in her position.
That being said, yes, the acting was stellar and Ducky's peril heartbreaking. I pray none of the core cast leaves - I'm worried it might be Jimmy or McGee... very worried and terrified it's Ducky.
And by the way, I'm still pissed as hell about Mike Frank's death. He was one of my very favorite characters! His contribution to every story line he was involved in was priceless.

#Dan Martin I hope you are right, but that would make sense. Jimmy would be looking for Ducky since they are going back to DC.. Lets hope he's fine. I like the idea that Dearing called him to shock him. Could be.
I am afraid McGee will be the worst injured, he did take a major hit. Regarding the elevator, well it may be cliche, but nobody warned them a bomb was going to go off and they should take the stairs.
I think Abby and Gibbs will fair the best, cuts, scrapes and bruises I hope.
As usual it is going to be a long summer.

I could not believe the way it ended!!! They can't leave Ducky; he is such a vital part of the show. In reading the other responses, I feel the fans feel like I do ---- don't let any of the "good guys" die! Each character has a special purpose in the storyline; we need them all! Can't wait until the first episode next year!

I thought this was a great season finale. Who will live? Personally I think the whole team MUST live in order to keep the chemistry of the show-but then I never saw he deaths of Caitlin, Jenny r Franks. I truly hope Ducky" does not die-he's such a foundation for the show. It will be a long summer until Gibbs and all come back to tak Deering down. Thank goodness we can watch reruns on USA and CLOO.

  14. Nightowl52

I was soooooo upset when Ducky had his heart attack. My thought is that Dearing called Ducky and told him about the "deceased" which caused his heart attack. I'm hoping that McGee is all right, he took a a lot of the blast full force.

Tony & Ziva stuck in an elevator together... pretty cliche don't you think? Aren't there signs by the elevator that say "In case of emergency Use stairs"? Guess that doesn't include TV shows.

About Ryan -- she wasn't upset when a serial murderer was just feet away from her son, but she hears that her ex is out of prison and she runs????

  15. Kathy Hess

This was without a doubt one of the best season finale shows I have ever seen. Of course I was left in the dark as I should be, but they can't get rid of David McCallum. This is without a doubt one of the best shows on TV. I never miss it. I also like NCIS - LA, but not quite as much. I love Hattie (spelling).

  16. Linda

My husband had gotten me involved in watching NCIS and now every chance I have I watch it -- and last night -- I cried -- I really did -- and I really hope they bring back all the major characters -- other than the current director - I am not too fond of him! I guess my favorite is Abby and her farting Hippo -- she is awesome!

  17. Dan Martin

When reviewing the finale with On Demand last night, there was a snippet where Jimmy was holding Ducky on the beach and he was alive.

  18. Albert

Thinking of ther Mike Franks character, I was led to believe that we were going to "see" more of the Franks character in a haunting kind of fashion for Gibbs throughout the season, yet, there was none....any thoughts??

  19. DeAnn

My first reaction to the season finale? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I screamed when my beloved Dr Mallard, aka Ducky went down on that lonely beach near the tide line! Abby, Ducky and McGee are my favorite characters on NCIS, and if they kill them off, I am never watching that show again, ever. Since I am sure that I am not alone in adoring Pauly Perette, Sean Murray and David McCallum, I am sure that the shows producers wouldn't be so stupid as to kill them all off, but just the thought that Gibbs would never go down to the morgue to say "Whatta ya got, Ducks?" or go to the lab to see Abby and give her a Caff-Pow and a kiss makes me sick to the stomach. I really don't care too much about Palmer and his wedding, but I do hope that there is some romance between Tony and Ziva as they struggle in the aftermath of the explosion in the elevator. And I am not sure Leon will survive, either, that directors spot has been a revolving door on NCIS. Man, I hope they catch and torture Deari

I SO HOPE DUCKY MAKES A RECOVERY....I've love David MacCallum since Man From Uncle and would hate for the team to loose such a wonderfully wise man. The actor who plays McGee hasn't looked very healthy this season so he may have opted out, that would be sad as I like his and Abbey's bantering...they make a cute couple. I would also like to see Ryan come back into the picture; it is nice to see Gibbs FINALLY enjoying a little bit of life. I enjoy this show a lot and it would be sad to loose any of the "regulars" At first I thought maybe Vance would be killed and Gibbs take over (give him less of an active role but he wouldn't be completely gone) leaving Tony to lead the team....it would be change but an acceptable one.

  21. Jo

I would be devasted if Ducky's character dies, but does anyone recall when the explosion happens at the office the one person who seems to have been affected by it was Sean Murray (McGee)because he went plunged forward when it happened. Truthfully, losing any character in this shows current cast would be a tragedy because they are so good. The Richard Schiff bad guy character is too much and I hope that he will blow himself up in the opening episode next season.

  22. Vicki

I found many of the previous comments interesting and very much like my own thoughts at the end of the show last night. One thought about Ducky's collapse, if the actor himself is dealing with a health issue, he may not be able to do full episodes anymore. David McCallum is 79 or 80 years old, I truly hope the actor's health is just fine, but if it isn't that would explain the character's collapse. Hopefully Jimmy and Brena will find Ducky in time to save him. As for McGee, I really hope that he is just injured severely and not dead. I love NCIS, I have loved watching the characters develope over the years. The writer's on this show are dynamite, the have progressed over the years with their story layering and little clues of future episodes that they drop in such sneaky ways. Keep up the good work guys, we love your work obviously or your number one rating would not have lasted so long.

  23. MJ LOWDEN

Finaly got to see ending of NCIS...how many others sat there and actually cried at the end...and pleaded NO NO not him...maybe cause I go way back to when David McCallum played another agent for the Goverment..and that is way back...To you young people yes we love McGee Ziva & Tony but our hearts and memories belong to Gibbs and Ducky...LONG LIVE NCIS...MAY IT NOW BECOME THE LONGEST RUNNING PROGRAM ON TVF

  24. Ali

Pat? You're a jerk. How Could you say that the show would improve if Abby dies?! Abby shows a slightly emotional side of Gibbs that nobody else brings out. Anyways the season 9 finale was exceptionally dramatic. Perfectly played out, and wonderful performances from the cast. Can't wait until Season 10.

  25. Albert

Did some research: found that Tony, Abby, Tim and Ducky did sign two year contracts in 2010....ok...so, Ducky is "all in", now....maybe the REAL cliffhanger this summer will be who else is "all in" and who is not....
