We really don’t know what will happen next year. Jimmy may have been looking for Ducky to tell him they were going to get married immediately. He may have found Ducky as he fell, given him immediate CPR and revived him. The camera switched to another shot. Another scenario may have Ducky die but he appears in Jimmy’s mind and talks to Jimmy as he takes over Ducky’s place as ME. Or the whole signing of the 2 yr. contract was a rouse to throw us off. Time will tell.

I don't think it was a red herring that David McCallum has signed for two more years. "Ducky" falling to the sand was meant to look horrible, and it was. But I really believe he will be back. I hope that the entire rest of the team is alive as well. LONG summer ahead, that's for sure.

Well, up until the last two minutes I thought "Til Death Do Us Part" was one of the better episodes. The writers are getting better at layering the story lines, making it harder to second guess what is about to happen, but my personal opinion is that if it is the intentions to kill off the character of Dr. Mallard, that the writers are making a very bad choice. The cast, all of it, is so well matched that the loss of any of them is going to cause severe problems with the viewers. I know that at least on my part, I would have a very hard time accepting someone else, even Jimmy Palmer, taking over the part of medical examiner for the team.
I think all the loyal viewers of NCIS need to band together and start a "Save Ducky" or a "Save the Team" campaign!

If anyone dies it's McGee. Ducky, Gibbs, and Ziva are all still signed so they aren't going. Abby couldn't die unless Gibbs did, and ratings would plummet if they killed her off, and they would also with Tony.

I understand the need for "cliffhangers," but really? Do you need to tie up all the characters in these months long "who survives" scenarios?? I don't want Ducky to leave! I've thought the world of David McCallum since The Man from U.N.C.L.E. which I watched as a teenager! He adds the touch of Scottish class that the show needs! (Gee, I need it!) Anyway, my prediction is that all major characters come back. But Mr. Dearing is still out there somewhere isn't he?? So....

Bring them all back. They are an excellent team and they seam to like
each other and their jobs. It really shows. Hopefully Ducky will
recover and the others will all have a chance to find a way to stay
alive. Get at it writers and make it like you have in the past...
A great and interesting show.

I was in shock, I hope they all survive, but what happened to Ducky to me looked like he might not make it. I hope I am wrong, as David McCallum's character is the reason I watch the show. If what they are saying is that he signed a 2yr contract then I hope Ducky survives.
It was a very powerful episode, as they always are at season's end. I look forward to next season, as NCIS & Los Angeles are my two favourite shows on Tuesdays.

This last finale was scarry. I hope that NCIS will last for a longn
long time. It is one of the only shows that I watch on TV and buy
all the DVDs. I hope that they never take back Jamie Lee Curtis in
this or any other role on the program. Just because Gibbs is white haired
I don't think his girlfriend should be. I like the Coastguard lady, the
redhead the best. I hope you will consider bringing her back.

in the beginning of the show i wasn't really impressed - it seemed to be all over the place, not like usual... my mouth dropped to the floor as Ducky dropped to the sand - - however, i think they are just waiting on 'feedback' as to how the viewers feel about him possibly departing... part of me believes he will return - - but the other part believes they may write off Ducky and Palmer and just 'outsource' the 'autopsy' part of the show.

It was a good episode but the ending left me wondering if they would all survive and if they didn't who would survive. I can't wait till season 10 I really want to know what happened to all of them.

this ending was worse than Kate's!!! and I can't believe you wrote that Mr. Glasburg. Or was CBS just putting out a 'Red Herring' by reporting that David had just renewed for 2 more years?! If so, SHAME on them, for lying to the fans...

Yes, Gibbs will always love Shannon, but it would be so sad to know that he never finds happiness, and respite from his obsessions by falling in love. Also, would be great to end another of his obsessions, and hook him up with a brunette, or blonde, or anything except another redhead. (how about Mike Franks daughter-in-law, so Gibbs could raise Mike's grand-daughter. Gibbs needs a wife, but also a child (children).
worst ending by far. I used to look forward to the new season now its more well if this is the end that's okay. Their is need to kill of Ducky all these shows are all about killing off someone important what happened to retirement or something like that why with this writer and so many others have to ruin a sires with a death and the death of such a loved character too.
