I hope Ducky makes it unless the actor has personal reasons to leave the show. C Ladd for Gibbs would be awesome but I like just a glimps here and there. Like the time he road off w the woman in the convertible. Ziva and Tony. It would be ashame for them not to date, but wait till the end. It would mess things up for now. Good plot line would be his fear of dating ziva due to losing Kate. Kate took me a long time to get over by the way. Great character not in line w typical Hollywood leading lady. Ziva has grown on me and the two should date. In very final episode they should just walk out together and leave in same car. Was the office better w Jim and Pam...no. Scarecrow and mrs king...ruined that chemistry for those old enough to remember it.

next year they should be Scottie Thompson as Jeanne for Tony maybe she will need his help for something and they will fall back in love. If we cant have Wony then let have Jony.
I would also like to see Trent Kort come back and find out why he was where he is and How he feel about NCIS screwing Ray and framing him for a murder he did not do.

I was overwhelmed by the sheer brilliance of this episode. Well done Mr. Glasberg! Bravo! I am very much looking forward to the romantic development between agents David and Dinozzo in Season 10. I've waited so long for them to become an official couple.

I overheard that there is a meaning to what happened on the season finale, but does anyone know what this means?

Suprise and shock are the words that come to mind for the season finale. I haven't been this misty-eyed since Star Trek the "Wrath of Kahn". I don't care what they have to do, Ducky has to live. Loosing him is like loosing your favorite uncle times 2. He is the link to a more reverant and respectful time, maybe even eloquent. Ducky embodies what some hope to be around retirement age, beloved by friends, family and co-workers. It never seems to get old watching this eclictic family sharing their lives together, like watching John Fords classic movies. I hope to see them all together for many years to come.

I agree with Suzi Q on 8 I think. Re-Tony and Ziva in lift. They like the rest of the team were the last to leave. Maybe one walked in and the other one followed.People do stupid things in the heat of the moment.Looks like some damaged backs as a result.

I have to say i love Ducky and his stories i am glad he be back, do not want any of the regular cast to die they all play a part in making it work together, even Vance and Gibbs, now the Ryan story she just needs to stay gone, did not inhance the show at all in fact made it worse

Ok first they are not a family they are coworkers and you can tell they don't trust each other look at Ziva and all the horrible things she has done to Tony over the years.
NCIS need to kill a woman off that when NCIS was good when they would kill the woman off

My favorite show on tv is NCIS. It is one of the few shows left on TV that is clean enough to watch with the family. I love the season finally! I venture to guess that the one leaving the show is Ducky. Only because he was acting strange in one of the episodes leaving Gibbs as the executor of his estate. That was a clue, at least to me. I hope the rest of the characters stay. I look forward each week to watch the show.

I really like Gibbs and Ryan together. They seem like a really good fit! Will be SOOO disappointed if Ducky doesn't pull through. Didn't miss Kate because I like Ziva so much more, but I was sad when Mike died. Can't wait for next season...

characters get killed off for various reasons: pursue other career in real life, failure to renew a contract, and of course, generate debate among viewers. A tragic ending always result in a most dramatic and memorable moment, it's the writers and producers' job to keep us viewers intrigued. Unfortunately, keeping all of us hanging is part of the tactic, albeit the obvious 'cruel and unusual' punishment.

Until I read your review, I did not know that McCallum signed for 2 yrs. I agree they may still kill him off, but that would be costly for the show. So I was relieved to hear that there is a good chance Ducky will survive. Although he played the heart attack very well, I was worried and shocked at that scene. I liked this finale very much. I actually liked JLC's character, not for Gibbs though, and I also think that there is something more to her that will destroy that relationship for sure. But I think she plays Dr. Ryan very well. I'm not a Tiva fan, and will never be, but I do like that Tony and Ziva do have deep feelings for one another, I just don't want the walking down the aisle kind. I agree that this team is very much family, and loved that Jimmy pointed that out and his finance stuck by him when he wanted to change their wedding plans. They are cute together. It will be a long summer trying to figure out what happened to each. I think a 2 hour opener should be done
I think the first episode should be 2 hour special then the writers will have more time explain what happened after the explosion and how the characters feel after such a big ordeal, and most of maybe some Tiva when Tony and Ziva were trapped in the lift

I've usually commented on the episode by now but so much happened and I had to rewatch it do many times and just keep being mind blown by what they did. I am wondering if they will bring up or bring in any of the family members we have seen so far (Tony's dad, Gibbs' dad, etc). I mean these people are all one big family really. In the episode, I actually had a smaller crying moment before Ducky on the beach, it was when Palmer had to realize that the team wouldn't be able to come to his wedding. He understood but you could tell it got to him and that it bothered the team they couldn't be there. One big lovable family who all need to come out this alive and stronger than ever. Four months is gonna be murder!!!

I am soooo upset! Why do the writers have to leave us with such a bizarre and tragic ending of the season?? Cliffhangers are one thing, but almost killing off most of the team is totally unacceptable! And making us wait for months to get some resolution is cruel and unusual punishment for being good and loyal fans of the show. What if we can't see the first new episode? What if I can't remember all the details of this last "to be continued" fiasco? I don't think it is right to make the audience wait for months for closure!

I say, again, Gibbs needs a tender woman love interest (like his Shannon was). If they don't hire Cheryl Ladd (or a hot equivalent) then I agree with a previous commenter that Diane Neal (the CGIS leader) would be a good choice for a romance with Gibbs.
Jamie Lee Curtis needs to be shown the door. Her welcome is worn out.
Robert Vaughn needs to be hired for a story arc involving Ducky. Maybe he could be the doctor (a Navy Doctor - active or retired) who saves Ducky and who is later involved (directly or indirectly) with a baffling murder case.
Gibbs and Vance need to come to terms and end their sparring. Abby and McGee need to get married to each other. So, too, Ziva and Tony need to tie the knot. Ducky needs a permanent partner - bring Doris Day out of retirement!

I would HATE to see any member of the core family die. They are the best cast on TV. If one or more of them die, I would not be able to watch the show any more.
As for Gibbs taking a bullet for Vance, he would, but only out of duty. He would never hesitate to take one for real members of the team, but Vance is not one of them. He (Vance) is the only main cast member that can be easily replaced.
It seems obvious that Gibbs does not trust Ryan, even though he doesn't mind sleeping with her. I feel her disappearence had to do with more than just her ex getting out of jail. I have felt for several shows that she is in cahoots with Dearing in some way.

david m just signed on for two more years so he could be laid up for a while but will be back. agree that killing off mike frank was moronic, the episodes he was in were always the most interesting.
making dearing into this superbad guy was over the top. no one is that smart or could do what he did including getting ryan's ex released, that part of this story arc was poor writing.

Leave Ducky alone and let him get better. It was bad enough when Mike Franks was killed-stupid writers. I hope Ryan is gone-she was hard to understand and there was no chemistry between Gibbs and Her. It seems as if Tony's part was smaller-bad idea.

Don't mess with the last good series on TV!!
Are the people behind the scenes so jealous of the characters that they have to "kill one off" just to show their power?
