Private Practice Casts Sam's Mother!
Ready to meet another member of the Bennett family?
According to Entertainment Weekly, veteran actress Alfre Woodard (Desperate Housewives, True Blood, Grey's Anatomy) has been cast on a November episode as Sam's mother. An Oscar nominee, Woodard is only booked for one installment at the moment.
Last year, of course, fans were introduced to Sam's troubled sister.
What does this casting scoop mean for Private Practice Season 6, which kicks off on September 25? It's hard to say, especially considering the mysterious way in which Shonda Rhimes has hyped upcoming episodes.
The uber producer says every one will be special and unique.

I don't know Jarrod, I loved Corrine, amazing scenes. I'd love some of Corrine scenes.
Plus I love Alfre Woodard, she's amazing.

If it has anything to do with Corrine, I think I'll be muting my TV with her scenes. Corrine drove me nuts last season.
