@KM: Thank you very much for your explanation and for sharing with me. I see I even spelled it wrong - oh my!

  2. KM

    @ bonaduz,
Debonaire comes from the original phrase de bon aire, of good lineage. The most common meaning is having a sophisticated charm, gracious, and courteous manner, but it can also be used to describe something as jaunty or sprightly. So Jane was being described as debonaire for faking Lisbon's death. I doubt they found Jane's attire debonaire.

@huisclothes, mimi and KM. I also took that cold reading in "a dozen red roses" as an inside joke. He must know, what he's talking about!
Speaking of inside jokes: s2 ep14 "blood in, blood out": John Polson is the director and when Jane and Cho visit this KS guy, there's a street sign that says "Polson St."
s4 ep24 "the crimson hat": Jane is in the car with Lorelei and RJ. RJ says: Debonheur at all costs, heh? Later, when the FBI chases the limo, there's a street sign that says Debonheur Drive. Funny, huh? I'm sure there are more of these jokes, I just didn't find them yet. By the way, what does Debonheur mean? I couldn't really find anything. Just a reference to a men's magazine?

    @huisclothes,
Re "aingavite baa", a lesser episode for me in season 2. I did think Jane's kindness to the amnesiac was nice and his silly baby faces sweet.
Re masochistic, I think he is refering to how hard he pushes himself. I'm paraphrasing something I read him say while in Australia, but he describes himself as unwilling to accept failure and that if his goal sits across a large lawn covered in bindis and he is without his thongs that he walk across to achieve the goal. Bindis is the Aussie name for Tribulus Terrestri and the nutlets have thumbtack-like thorns ~10 mm long and they can easily puncture bicycle tires so you can imagine what they could do to bare feet. I take that paraphrase as to mean he willingly suffer to achieve his goals and that he is hardest on himself. Not being an Aussie, I could have miss understood. But I've seen bindis nutlets and I had my thongs.

Just reading up on the comments. Thank's mimi, anitraward1 and KM for your concern, but I'm totally ok. The situation was of course not as dramatic as in the show, just holding hands and accompanying someone that was too sick to go on and refused to eat or drink anymore. Still hard to accept, but understandabel. And of corse anitraward1, it's always art imitating life. The writers are only humans too and all the stories that any uf us can come up with are experiences that have been made or observed in our lifes. @mimi: translations are sometimes hilaryous and not spot on, I've noticed that with the german translation too. But furtunatly I do understand enough english to watch the show in its original version - also because of the voices. They always use the same actors for the translations and so you can have Brad Pitt and for example Terence Hill end up with the same voice!! LOL Gotta go feed my animals - later!

  6. anitraward1

I'm going to rewatch this episode.

  7. anitraward1

mimi, this site is good enough for me!

  8. mimi

    see him I mean sorry
lol time to go to bed for me it seems!cant seem to write properly.

  9. mimi

however I dont see it as a bad boy at all and certainly not masochist but hey I'm not the one sharing his life!

  10. mimi

yes HC that could be! apparently they don't stick to the scirpts 100%

  11. huisclothes

@mimi yes, a dozen red roses is pretty much a turkey. there is one line where he's cold reading the movie star and tell her her husband is not her type -- that her type are sporty bad boys with a touch of masochism. she says no and he says "that was a bull-eye." somehow i always think it's an inside joke and he's describing himself.

  12. anitraward1

I thought that was his wife, I wasn't sure!

  13. huisclothes

@entwife well, we know he likes to delegate so maybe with the right support, he has the time to pretend to be a worker bee. like marie antoinette pretending to be a shepherdess.
would love to see red john's org chart. do you think it's him and and one level of all direct reports or layers?

  14. mimi

ani it doesnt matter it's just for the fun of writing

  15. mimi

btw some of the show's music is just amazing. I love the music we hear every now and then, when Jane kisses Sophie's cheek, there it starts, beautiful music dont know if you like it too?

  16. anitraward1

I can't see writing something that's not going to go anywhere. I'm sure we all have great script ideas!

  17. mimi

yes it's true entwife unless he does have minions everywhere to do all the work but still..

  18. mimi

    *enjoy sorry

  19. mimi

yes I knew about Rebecca, actually I had seen who Simon's wife was and then I saw that epi and thought?? isnt she Simon's wife and so I looked the names up and had confirmation.. but I really didn't like that epi strangely enough it's probably my least fav of all. must be weird to be working with your husband and I remember reading in an interview that they didnt particularly enjoyed it, he explained he was different at work than at home and so it felt odd to be in that situation.

  20. Entwife

and what about a little "me" time for those personally executed torture and killings? developing clues, leaving notes and videos, it never ends. No time to fake a full time job.

  21. huisclothes

@mimi pretty much agree that the ones you picked are lesser episodes. paint it red, ep 13 does have two great scenes, jane and the mafioso and jane and the russian mobster, but on a whole, not my favorite.
also, don't know if you're aware of this but in episode 19, the lead actress is simon's wife rebecca rigg. not a great episode but the fact that they're married gives it a little je ne sais quoi.

  22. Entwife

and then there's the monitoring and clean up -- Red John wouldn't have time to scratch his arse!

  23. Entwife

Yeah, @huisclothes, it's like how can you find the time to be nefarious, make nefarious plans, line up nefarious minions and train them in nefarious ways -- when you're schlepping on a full time job lol

  24. mimi

oh ok ani so start writing then :)!

  25. mimi

actually I don't think there are bad epi for me, it's not that they are bad but rather that others are better if you know what I mean.
while skimming through the pi I saw a scene that I love it's in s1-2 when Jane build sand castles on the beach, so cute!

ok so S1 least loved epi: ok probably episode 12 although the scene with Rigsby and the carrots was good! then 13-15-19 and 22
