@ Mimi,
Re the scar. I would not doubt that. I've gotten beat up out there. And it is worse if it is crowded or there are reefs. The singer Jack Johnson has some interesting ones, including a significant one on his face. Both Baker and Johnson were competitive surfers when they were younger. I just do it for the joy and adrenaline rush, and as a result I'm nothing to write home about. But some lovely Indian couple thought me descent enough to send their son into the surf at Bondi to ask me to take snaps with them. So somewhere in Mumbai some unfortunate friends are being forced to look at vacation pictures of me posing with their loved ones.

i'm sure the jane uniform is codified at this point but i loved him in the light suit. a walking heart attack. in the beginning, his vest never matched his suit. read an interview from bruno once that said that he and simon created the jane look. their concept was that jane had sent all his old suits to the cleaners and was now just mixing the vests randomly. i really didn't like in year three when he had that dark pin-stripe. too banker. too guys and dolls.
simon said that cbs let him pick out six or seven suits at the beginning of each season and that was his wardrobe. but that there were always one or two that he didn't wear too much that he took home. i got the feeling that he didn't wear them so he could take them. didn't really like that. but it shows you how unguarded he is to the press. he makes himself look bad sometimes. reveals too much. he's not a chess player like patrick jane.

@ huisclothes,
I could see that. I most definately could. But, personally I would not fault Jane for being a wee bit pleased that Red John wants him as bad as Jane wants him. (I certainly did not see any pleasure in the deaths of Bosco and team from Jane that has been argued on other forums. Jane did not want them harmed. And he and Bosco had found a way to work together. I guess he feels guilt to this day because of Rebecca's remark.) After all, did not Jane just point out to Sonya that people resemble the thing they devote themselves too?

@ bonaduz,
Undiagnosed pyloric stenosis in infants is live threatening. Why a surgeon would chose that specific cut, I would not exactly know. My best guess, I dropped out of med school, would be emergency due to severe dehydration and presence of blood in the vomit. Or some form of situs invertus or slight position of organ placement irregularity. (I've only heard of compete or partial situs invertus in identical twins.) Now a days surgeons can choose laparoscopic, circumumbilical, or the transverse right upper quadrant (gridiron). It is less common, but pyloric stenosis can occur even in adults, obvious infants (males specifically) under age 3 months are the most common age for this form of gastrointestinal obstruction. Of course, all of this is just my guess as the cause of the scar. For all we know it was a wicked laceration from a surfboard fin or some crazy adventure he had in his wilder child days, right?

@km i took jane's grim smile as one of determination and humiliation. he had been deceived on a grand and public scale by red john. he started the interview so cocky and smooth. poking at rebecca; cutting to her core with a few quick strokes. wow, did she regain the upper hand. red john regained the upper hand.
i've never really thought about lisbon's non-cbi, non-jane reasons to pursue red john. bosco. she did love him. she certainly knew that he'd kill and die for her. that he would have engineered her exoneration in the red badge case no matter what. she could have relaxed and danced to the spice girls. sam would have taken care of her. powerful stuff. once again, they've let a great thread drop, so bringing it back would make no sense to anyone but us.

love the idea of there being a real rift between them. but i don't believe jane's "what do you take me for?" and "guessing, you should try it sometime" are anything but classic banter between them. jane interrupts funerals and steals bodies and pretends to be morbidly depressed. he messes with lisbon constantly. and one of their repeating battles always concludes with lisbon saying something like "this'll be solved with good solid police work."
maybe the major battle has to come near the end of the season where lisbon does walk away from jane. the fact that he's caused the deaths of others is too much for her. she doesn't have his back. he desperately needs her and then.... A) she comes back and saves him from red john. B) that's the cliffhanger that sets us up for season 6.

@ bonaduz,
Jane smiled slightly when Rebecca said that RJ wanted to make sure Jane had the case. Some people think it was really awful of Jane to take pleasure in RJ's desire. I saw it as an indication of the depth of developing obsession that RJ and Jane have for each other. The interview was recorded, and Lisbon was watching (I assume) from the other side of the double-sided mirror. I can't imagine it did not have an effect on Lisbon as Bosco was in love with her and she loved him too. (I don't think Lisbon was in love with Bosco when he came to the CBI). She did grieve him and was depressed because of his death. Part of Jane's argument that lying to everyone that they were going to die from exposure to that biological warfare virus was helpful to her was because she needed to be reminded of how good it felt to be alive.
The hug and grave scene could be from the TV show Prison Break or one of her movies.

@mimi i sometimes think people who believe the best of others are brave. voltaire said this great thing, "it is better to be taken advantage of by one's friends than it is to be suspicious of them." better the occasional pain than a life of cynicism and self-protection.

I always wondered, how Jane must have felt, when what's her name (RJ's minion that killed Bosco's team) told him, that RJ made her do it so Jane can get the case back! Must have had some impact on him - and on Lisbon as well! She really liked Bosco, was his partner. How did this statement of (ding it, can't remember her name) affect her view on Jane? Did she blame him in any way? Blame his obsession with RJ to have had something to do with Bosco's dead? If yes, it wasn't shown at all. RJ has issus with Lisbon, yes, but Lisbon has issus with RJ as well! And she has good reasons. This creep is turning her life into a mess too. Does she sometimes wish, Jane would never have shown up at CBI? I think ther might be moments...!

@ bonaduz,
I did not recognize them either. The video did do a nice job of emphasizing that she has her own reasons to see RJ dead. Another reason I think she'll always have Jane's back. RJ had Bosco and team killed to see to that Lisbon's team, really Jane, had the case again. RJ has issues with Lisbon as well.

@Mimi from yesterday!
I don't think Mimi, that a person can be too nice! This world needs people like that, who see the good in everything. Most of us forget that too often, we get hardened by life, by circumstances, by other people getting under our skin and we build walls to protect ourselfs from that. These walls come across to others as arrogant, selfish or even manipulative at times. Don't let others take advantage of you, but if you can keep this positive outlook on things - that's a great trait!

Hi all,
Don't know if you have seen this one. It's not Jisbon. It was made between season 3 finale and season 4 starting. It is focused on Lisbon's relationship with Red John, and is intended to reflect how she has her own score to settle with RJ. Enjoy.
