entwife the hair, the hair. he has curly hair with not an ounce of frizz. and the color? how many true golden blondes does one meet? especially with skin that gets a tan. one of the things that makes him so beautiful and sculptural is that the hair and skin blend. golden hair, golden skin. the thick eyebrows don't dominate as they would with any other coloring. so you're looking at the david in florence, the marble is all one color. that's where blond can be wonderful. not when it's pukey and neurasthenic or aging baby face.
also interesting to read about simon's favorite films and the elle stylist's comments about his looks. his idols are mentioned: steve mcqueen and belmondo. talk about men who had it goin' on.

@huisclothes I don't like that overworked muscle pop-out look either. I like good condition and elegant. And those blond curls go a long way.

just remembering that early in the first season, before i knew anything about him, i was thinking about the curly blond hair - he had this eton school boy look - then it came to me, he's a surfer. i looked him up and found out he was australian and a surfer. very gratifying.

i also like that he's not a super buff. six-pack guy. they always look kind of effeminate to me. guys who are that concerned with their looks have never appealed. he's nicely muscular. a sleek seal of a surfer.

@bonaduz i guess he's done shooting tm and is cooling his heels till his kids finish the school year so they can all go to australia. guess he's not shooting anything this summer unless he's all prepped and ready to go for breath. didn't sound like it in the interviews he did in london for i give it a year. but when he did margin call, he didn't come in till june or so so there's still time to find a part and do a few days shooting. hope he does some part.

@Entwife - you really have a feet thing going on! LOL
@Huisclothes - he says he likes traveling. Well I hope so, the way he is bouncing around in the world! And as you have mentioned: If they shoot "Breath" in Australia and he still does TM, man, that could really be tyering. I fly to Europe twice a year and the Jetlag getting harder with every passing year! Let's hope he doesn't wear himself out.

@Entwife - found it! I like the one where he's walking back to the car with the surfboard under his arm, sunglasses, wetsuit down to his waist! Mmmmmh!
@KM - thank you for the english interview. The italian one wasn't complete. Love the picture! And I had to laugh when he talks about his kids. They drive you crazy when they're home... yes, I can relate to that! :-D

@km thanks for that. really enjoyed it. especially because it's so recent. whenever i hear simon talk about her, i've always his hunger for his daughter's attention and affection. glad to hear he's getting it.
also, sounds like they got their funding for breath (still haven't read, i'm an idiot). i'm really glad to hear it. i wonder who wrote the screenplay? doing that film and getting good attention would be incredible for him. i think he has a director on-board so i assume he'll executive produce and star. i guess they're not shooting this summer or we would have heard word. maybe they'll do it during winter break. low-budget, tight schedule. he might have to wait till menty is over. i think he has to strike while he's still young enough to play leading men. maybe they can shoot in oz and then post-production in l.a. if he thinks he's tired now...

Thanks for the tip @bonaduz, just found it wow! and this one's in a collage with a pic of him surfing in full wet suit and you can see his pretty feet on the board. Have to look at the rest of them in that google search now!

@Entwife - do you know the picture where he's on the beach after surfing, with his wetsuit down to his waist, arm behind his back with a towel in his hands? I think it is in Santa Monica by the looks of the rollercoaster in the background.

oh yeah, that one @KM, that's divine! I found it in the last couple days maybe, enlarged and captured it. Wish it wasn't so grainy. But it doesn't get any better than him in light colored clothes and his bare feet stuck out. Unless it's on the beach and obviously wearing boxer shorts under those suit pants! lol

@km thanks for il favoloso. hadn't seen that before. god, what a life his talent and beauty have created for him and his family. once read an interview where simon said, "do you think if i didn't look like this, i'd be where i am?"

@km sure you're right about covering patrick if he was nearby. just an interesting way to stage the scene considering that lisbon would sleep with mashburn later in the ep. sort of foreshadowing what would happen.

@ huisclothes,
I'm inclined to think that her instinct is to cover. Patrick dove away from her. Had he been beside her, then she would have covered them both.
@Entwife,
You know there is a tumbler devoted to his feet. And, if you haven't seem it then Google "Il favoloso Baker" Ellle Italia. There is a lovely snap of him slouching in an elegant chair with nice hands, forearm, and bare feet.

@entwife i love when lisbon pinches him in his hospital bed. "guess what, he's a bad patient." "i'm not a bad patient, she's a bad visitor." good comedy writing. very charming. season one had a certain freshness that's been lost especially when they're trying to be funny. now, it's often arch and campy. and i must say that i shudder at the way he says, "pitchy!" in the promo for this sunday. patrick jane flames. the writers stoop to conquer.
except bruno, who is head and shoulders above the others. he never loses his touch.
