NCIS Sneak Peek: Thai Food and Beer?

by at . Comments

After the shocking events of "Shabbat Shalom" and "Shiva" earlier this year, it was only a matter of time until the death of Ziva's father resurfaced on NCIS. Looks like that time is tonight.

Tony is suspicious of what Ziva's been up to lately, believing that Thai food, beer and late night calls to Shmiel cannot be a coincidence. Something's up with her, it's just a question of what.

While he and McGee argue over whether his concern is being a good citizen or stalking, Bodnar also comes up in a talk between Vance and Gibbs, who are well aware of Ziva sniffing around.

Although he's the CIA's problem now, there's no doubt Ziva has taken this into her own hands ... as has Vance himself, according to Gibbs. Who knows what? Who's plotting what?

He will realize that it was a good thing Ziva wasn't totally rogue — that she had reached out to McGee and that he was helping her. At first I wasn't too happy but I LIKE IT! I really do! Well done NCIS! P.S. and it allows a little Tony/Ziva angst LOL win win Loved:
The appearance of the former Director! P.P.S. That was supposed to be *bare

Con't ... And when they DO tell Gibbs they are wearing the clothes from Day 2 AFTER they catch the husband. I hated that Tony looked so hurt, but I LOVED that Ziva was in fact working with McGee. It all makes sense, McGee has the computer know-how and resources, and Ziva can be all business and FOCUS on finding Bodner. These are steps she is taking unlike previously where she didn't involve ANYONE. She/they were going to tell Tony when the time was right. She and Tony are too close and Ziva did not need that to hinder her. McGee knows that as well. Also, this show is about the team and not just about Tony/Ziva — this was an EXCELLENT way to show growth on McGee's part. He didn't waver in the face of snooping/prying Tony, he was there for his teammate when she needed him JUST as Tony would have been. He is hurt angry with them now, but won't remain so. It wasn't the usual joking — more tone involved.
b. Note clothes … again
B. Continues the work on the missing husband case — thought is that husband may be dead, but they end up catching the husband as it is HE who has fabricated it all and killed the ex-con. There is a very heavy look exchanged between Ziva and Tony when husband is caught. Tony finds Ziva in her "revenge HQ", a dark and seedy studio — WITH MCGEE. Now judging from the clothes they are ALL wearing, this scene ACTUALLY takes place the evening of day 1 HOWEVER, Gibbs and McGee both mention the case being closed. BUT if this is the evening of Day 1, then the case has not been closed yet. Other than that though it fits for ANOTHER REASON. Tony's attitude towards McGee — it made sense to me then WHY Tony was so COLD towards him. And the look Ziva and Tony exchange when the husband is caught — it's time to tell Gibbs. This is long, but bear with me ... About last night --> First! The episode was really good. While I wasn't too interested in the case itself, it ran a nice parallel for Ziva and Vance regarding closure. It also dealt with losing someone who you weren't on the best terms with (Ziva/Eli). This underlying story also provided a nice setup for Ziva's quest for closure. Confuzzled:
Timeline for Tony discovering Ziva, and Ziva telling Gibs. Here is what I have figured out:
Day 1 —
A. Tony fretting/obsessing over Ziva's activities
a. Note clothes the team is wearing and Tony continues to take note of Ziva's behavior and continues his snooping.
B. Team works on case involving missing/kidnapped husband of Lt Day 2 —
A. Tony never mentions snooping or notes Ziva's behavior. Instead, when Tony is at Gibbs desk and they are talking about case … McGee chimes in with his thoughts and Tony was very cold to him and at the time I thought it was very odd. It wasn't the usual joking — more tone involved.

@Ace - regarding a federal investigation/prosecution - I think Vance would end up as their top target. He is the director of the agency. He has been using federal funds and personnel to chase a man who killed his wife - which could be seen as his own personal vendetta.

@Kim Hampton I totally think that Gibbs is on board with a relationship with Tony and Ziva. I think he has probably been aware of it for a very long time. I think he showed this when he told Ziva in so many words to "Give the guy a break. It's the opera. It's one of the big three". Hopefully we will get a Caskett moment for TIVA! That would be heavenly!!

Did anybody else think that Gibbs sending Tony along with Ziva was as much about Gibbs acknowledging, and consenting to, the relationship that's coming--fully consummated Tiva--as it is about catching Bodner? And for those of you who are a little disappointed at how little Tiva there has been in this "year of Tiva", I'll just say that Castle did the same thing last season; teased us all the way until the last episode, and in that last episode made us wait until the next to last scene for us to get Castle and Kate going to bed with each other (and we didn't see it). So if the NCIS writers are teasing us the way Castle writers did, then the last episode should be explosive. Keep the faith!

hehe @chellemaria, I think that would have to be a dream because Tony would be in major trouble too as well as the rest of NCIS. However, that would be a good way to "get them together" without them really "being together". LOL
