Castle Season Finale Sneak Peek: DC-Ya?

by at . Comments

Will the Castle Season 5 finale put the final nail in Caskett?

That's what the series wants viewers to believe is possible, as "Watershed" will focus on Beckett's job opportunity with a high-profile federal law enforcement agency in D.C. Will she actually take the gig?

Before that decision is reached, she'll get into it with Castle when he discovered its mere existence... along with the fact that she interviewed for the promotion without telling him. That's never a recommended move.

Watch the couple argue over Beckett's omission of truth in this sneak peek from the finale:

Daren. So true about these season finales (2,3,4 and now 5). We go from 100th episode where both are portrayed as domestic and loving to a few weeks later where we are now to believe that a woman turns away a man who really loves her for a government job. Wow! IF she actually took the job, THEN I expect that the swing set talk is not the last scene of the episode (recall Season4, ep 1 and 23). The last scene might show a DC operative in contact with Sen. Bracken telling him that she took the job. Otherwise, all this manufactured heartbreak is just stupid in order to create intrigue for next season.

Hey what did you guys think when in the human factor last week castle and beckett go in the book store and his books were 50%off. I think he needs to kill off his nikki heat like he did in espoide 1 the main guy in his books then. He needs to worry about his writing again that is his bread and butter.

Vince I agree with what you just said. I can't figure out what the writiers are trying to do with this all over again. Are we ever going to get rid of the past and begin a new future. The writiers keep putting these two in the same position over and over.

DianaR. So agree with your comments. Her quote “this is about my life, recall that we have heard this before from Beckett in Season4 finale. At her apartment, Castle professes his love for her and asks her to consider the danger that exists if she continues on her path to find her mother’s killer. She throws his words right back in his face and tells him“…my life, mine, you don’t get to decide…. I just wonder how the writers will be able to reconcile the relationship to the viewers after Beckett shows such a lack of concern for Castle feelings. She has really hurt him with her words and actions once again.

There is a clip out where she is with the boys and she says we need to talk but she wants to talk to castle first. She calls him and says we need to talk and he says we do and I think that is where they meet at the swings. Sounds like to me she is leaving the way she talked to the boys cause they knew something was wrong.

Sorry, it's me again. I didn't know that I'd be "allowed" to type as much as I want, and then cut me off. I just wanted to add that when Castle said that if Kate left, he'd never see her again, Kate replied "You don't know that." If she really cared about Castle, wouldn't she say "Of COURSE you will. I love you, Castle." The comments by AM and the cast members about the finale range from "gentle" to "chilling." Are they trying to confuse us?

Has Castle ever shown that kind of anger toward Kate before? I was a bit shocked, but I really feel for him. After pursuing Kate for 4 years, hiding his pain when she dated others (yes,I know he did that, too),and risking his own life to save her from the bomb, of course he thinks she should have told him. And he deserves that from the woman who said she loves him,(even though she said it just ONCE in a year!?!) Kate said that she didn't tell Castle because she KNEW he'd be angry. And why was that? Because they are in a relationship, where couples share their problems, hopes and plans. But not Kate. When she said "Please Castle, don't
make this about us," and "this is about my life," I thought: Here we go. Kate seems to take the "it's all about me" attitude quite a bit. [To be fair, I think Kate is a strong woman, who has been emotionally closed, and on her own, for a long time. So she's accustomed to taking care of herself, not "needing" a man for that. Maybe that's why it's harder for her to give and take equally] When Castle told Kate that if she took the job he wouldn't see her again, she said "You don't know that." If she really cared about him, wouldn't she say "Of COURSE you will! I love you, Castle". What is "You don't know that" supposed to mean anyway?? AM's comments, and the cast members' comments about the finale seem to range from "gentle" to "chilling." Maybe they've done it on purpose to keep us guessing. Based on the clip, I feel that the finale will be a cliffhanger, with Kate and Castle breaking up, or deciding to "take a break" to think over their relationship. And a whole summer for us to wait for the outcome.... But as has already been said, if Kate left the 12th, there wouldn't be a show.

winky97. Your examples about the lies are really a stretch. Long time viewers know the difference. Not a valid comparison. In episode 16 “Hunt, Castle went to Paris alone because he was frustrated with the FBI and NYPD bureaucracy. He was just acting as a parent. He told Martha that he was with Beckett at the precinct. He never lied to Beckett. He just never returned her calls. As far as the job offer event, Beckett has a history where she wants to RECEIVE from Castle, but never wants to GIVE when it really counts. IMHO

Give me a break! They both have a history of lying to each other when they want to do something and they don't want the other to try to stop them. In "Taken" Castle lied to Beckett and said he would be home all day but snuck off to Paris where he could have been killed. Would that not have impacted her. Honestly, I don't get the big deal about this. She went on an interview without discussing it with him. So what! It is not like she accepted the job and was packing her bags. If she had talked to him about it first and he expressed opposition and she still went would she still be the horrible person everyone seems to want to make her out to be? He clearly would have had a problem with her interviewing given that he is all like "you are not seriously considering this" and "if you take this job our relationship is over". As for that stupid "kiss" in the Squab, in season 2 Castle had a full on kiss with his engaged former girlfriend. While he was single the woman was not. Is he a good awful cheater for that lapse? Also consider what happened in that episode. She tried sexy time with him only to be ignored for his video game; she was an after thought with his last supper list; when she tried to reassure him about his discomfort with her watching Vaughn by saying "he would not want me" Castle said "yeah, you are right"; and he was so focused on getting laid that he intentionally deflected her effort to discuss the progression of their relationship when it was clear that she needed to talk about it. He is not perfect. Up until the last few episodes, Beckett has actually been the better more loving one in this relationship. She was the one always initiating their intimacy. Meanwhile Castle continued to talk about his hot girlfriends of the past and was dumb enough to allow Meredith to crash at his place. People have made such a big deal over her delay in saying ILY. Its not like Castle was running around saying it. The first time he said it she was on the ground with a bullet in her chest and had a boyfriend. The second time was during a fight. After the became a couple neither said it that we heard until "Still".

All I know is secrets is very bad. I agree this ne job offer is strange at this point of the season. She takes it and he follows later or she gets cold feet and comes back cause we have to have the boys no matter what. No show without all the guys. Ryan needs to have his baby.
