The Mentalist Season 6: What We Hope to See

by at . Comments

September 29th feels like it's a long way off. Mostly because it is. And as much as we enjoy summer, the cool breezes of autumn and our favorite shows returning with new episodes weigh heavy on our minds.

So since we have to wait another 80-plus days for the season premiere of The Mentalist, we decided to make a list.

Read on, TV Fanatics, and see if our hopes and dreams for The Mentalist Season 6 match yours. Vote for what you'd most like to see happen come fall and don't forget to share your thoughts and add anything we've missed in the comments below.

Jane's Wild West

Our Mentalist Season 6 Wish List:

The Big Reveal. Yes, we finally want to know Red John's true identity. It's been five seasons. It's about time we know.

A Love Interest for Cho. One that doesn't involve a hooker, a junkie, or any other type of criminal. Someone worthy of the character we've grown to love.

More Rigsby and Van Pelt. It took a long time for these two to find their way back to one another. We're hoping to see this couple stay happy for a while.

Jisbon. That's the shipper name for Jane and Lisbon for those not in the know. A Jane / Lisbon pairing has been hinted at and teased for five seasons. It's included an I love you from Patrick that he later side stepped and many doe eyed looks for Teresa. It's about time these two had an honest conversation about how they feel for one another.

A Kiss. For those of us who don't care about the talking and want a little more action, a real kiss between this dynamic duo would make us cheer.

Casual Time. Wouldn't it be great to see the entire team spend a little more time outside the CBI?

Real Danger for Our Core Team. Show creator Bruno Heller promised that Red John will be targeting closer to home this season. We're hoping that means RJ will go after someone on Jane's immediate team. Not that we want to see Lisbon, Cho, Rigsby, or Van Pelt die at the hands of the merciless serial killer…but having one of them in serious peril will have us glued to the screen.

YOUR turn: Pick the story you're most hoping for on The Mentalist Season 6...

Jane himself called Stiles a con man.

Visualize members have openly killed in the series and you can best believe Stiles had one of his pawns do it. In think Stiles is just a killer. Murder has always swirled around him. He is a daytime killer under the visualize logo and a night time killer under the Red John logo. Out of all the people in the list Stiles is the only one that has the means that Red John has. Jane is nothing like any of the others on the list.

@Rationalgal, Stiles is the only one who is just Like Jane. Jane does not have mental issues. Anyone would have broke down after having to deal with such a horrible tragedy. Remember in the episode The red badge, the psychiatrist said Jane had good mental health. I really think all that hack about Jane's mental health is what you would normally get when people find out you were hospitalized. What's interesting is that they never speak about why he was there. What's even more interesting is that it was ok for Darcy to have a mental break down for shooting Wainright but it's not ok for Jane after seeing his wife's and daughter's throats cut open. The talk about Jane's mental health seems to be a bit of a red herring.

Been watching my S5 DVDs, looking for the promised clues. So far I notice this: LaRoche is a friend - a good one. He most likely will play a significant role in bringing down RJ. Lorelei noted how alike Jane and RJ are. Which of the 7 is most like Jane? Not Smith and McCallister. WTF are they?? Partridge is just a ghoulish crime scene cleanup guy. Hafner is nothing like Jane - intellectually or any other way. Bertram is the total opposite. The closest match is Stiles - driven, manipulative, controlling, secretive, with mentalist skills, able to draw people to his cause. Yet, like Volker (a major clue-character) he has others do his killing for him. Who would that be? The only one left is Kirkland. Lots of psycho issues going on with him. He kills at Stiles' demand, feels guilty, hopes someone will give him an easy death. So I see RJ as a Stiles/Kirkland combo, with Kirkland the original RJ simple serial killer now working a "big picture" with Stiles.

I saw a preview for season 6 DVD's and it said there was a bonus episode. I don't know if that should be taken in face value or not.

I hope there good ones! I can't wait to get my DVD's!

Exciting day today! My Season 5 DVDs for TM arrived! The box blurb urged us to "follow the clues" in this season, so I do think Heller laid out some of the plots to give us genuine clues to the ID of Red John. I will watch all the episodes closely and weed out the red herrings, assuming I can spot them.
