NCIS Spinoff Confirmed, To Be Set in New Orleans

by at .

NCIS is about to be spunoff. Yes, again.

Years after the original CBS hit spawned a series in Los Angeles, and months after the network passed on a spinoff of that spinoff, it has been confirmed that a backdoor pilot will air this spring that introduces viewers to a new crew of agents in New Orleans. It will be produced by Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.

According to Deadline, the NCIS: New Orleans office will handle investigations from Pensacola through Mississippi and Louisiana to the Texas panhandle.

The Team's Latest Case

NCIS is the latest in a very long line of shows to spawn spinoffs.

Chicago Fire has beget Chicago PD; Pretty Little Liars will soon lead into Ravenswood; Courtesy of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals premieres on October 3 and AMC announced this month an upcoming spinoff of The Walking Dead.

The NCIS Season 11 premiere, which will bid farewell to Cote de Pablo as Ziva, airs tomorrow night.

I don't think Cote would be there,as it is my "guess"-note I said guess not fact- that they will be having Ziva decide she can't change the way she was brought up and should stay in Israel. However, it would be an interesting launch for DiNozzo to lead his own team, and for MW to star in his own show.

Maybe some of the 'Red' spinoff that didn't could be cast as getting off the road all the time...

Do you think it's possible that Ziva might show up in N'awlens as a regular cast member?

I love NCIS LA so I think this spinoff will be good but I liked the idea for the spinoff of NCIS LA better because they would travel all over but in this one they'll only be in a few spots it doesn't really seem that different then NCIS and NCIS LA but I'm sure the show will still be good.
