A drug addict is found shot to death in what appears to be a drug related murder until it's uncovered he was blackmailing a powerful, young billionaire, Erich Blunt.

Two detectives, Terry and Hildy, investigate the murder while dealing with their own problems at home. Terry's wife is near-death from cancer, while Hildy's a single mom raising a daughter.
