NCIS Casting Scoop: Who Will Play Young Ducky?

by at .  Updated at . Comments

How did bow ties come into Ducky's life?

That's just one of the things we'll find out in the upcoming flashback episode of NCIS Season 11 when actor Adam Campbell takes on the role of Young Ducky.

Adam Campbell

Campbell (Mixology, Touch, 2 Broke Girls) will appear in the third episode of the fall and is married to former Glee star Jayma Mays.

Said Executive Producer Gary Glasberg of the casting: "When we saw Adam, all we could think of was a young David McCallum. We can't wait to introduce him as young Ducky and watch what he brings to this unusual role.”

Besides how Ducky came to wear the infamous bow ties, we'll find out about past relationships for the beloved character, whose past we will delve into this October.

The new season of NCIS kicks off September 23 on CBS.

Personally, I think they should have brought in James McAvoy to play young Ducky.

I'm sure that a very talented young actor will play Ducky. It would nice to see Ducky as a young man as Illya Kuraykin from the Man From U.N.C.L.E. This was mentioned by Gibbs in the episode THE MEAT PUZZLE from Season 2. Also, it would be nice if one of the guest actors on the show could be Robert Vaughn also from The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

People I miss Ziva to, but Actresses do get tired of portraying the same character for 8 years. Cote left on her own, CBS left the door open if she wants to return. Wish her well and remember the show doesn't center around a character, it centers around NCIS. iIt works well because they are family.

Well, look what I found. - She's already signed to do a movie but apparently will be coming back for the opening episode of Season 11 to finish off Ziva's story line.

@ becompassionate

You mean season 12.

@ becompassionate

Season 11 has come and gone. They're heading into Season 12.

@ PatrickC

ah- you are correct. Ooops! I didn't get to watch it as it aired, so I hardly know it happened! LOL So I guess I can say what I was going to say before I saw that post at Huff. Cote is not returning to the show. She gone on to other things. I saw so much bellyaching on the CBS site when she first left, and it got really old. Bishop is not as strong of a character as Ziva or even Kate, but she's not terrible. She's just different.

Sounds boring to me and a filler show. Not any reason I would watch.

@ Katie

then don't, we who love the show want it to continue, and if your so bored change channels, heaven knows there are enough of them.

Still wish they'd bring back the "ZIVA" character. I've watched this show since the beginning, when the first 2 episodes were introduced during JAG (season 8) and although I liked Kate, I loved Ziva and do NOT like this past season with the blonde. Get rid of her, bring back ZIVA!!!! *S*

@ Sassie Kat

Translation: 'Kill a baby if it were the only requirement to bring Cote back even though she left by choice.'

@ Dean

Translation: 'I'm a psychopath.'

@ Sassie Kat

Folks we are not talking about Ziva in this, we are talking about young ducky.

@ Sassie Kat

sussie Cote/Ziva left on her own. CBs left the door open if she wants to come back, but she doesn't seam to want to. You cannot bring someone back that doesn't want to. What makes the show a hit is they all work as a team and are a family.

NCIS Quotes

McGee: Rule number 70 - keep digging till you hit bottom.
Abby: McGee! There is no rule 70.
McGee: Well, I--
Abby: You just made up a rule. This McGibbs thing has really gone to your head. I don't even recognize you right now.

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.
