Sleepy Hollow Round Table: The Bone Flute

It's time for another Round Table, Sleepyheads!

This week's Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Episode 4 gave us tons to talk about, as TV Fanatics Jim Garner, Whitney Evans, Stacy Glanzman and Henry A. Otero are here to discuss to Pied Piper, his bone flute and so much more

Pull up a virtual chair and let's discuss!

What did you think of the Pied Piper, his bone flute and the Lancaster curse?

Stacy: It was an interesting story and the Pied Piper was definitely creepy. The curse was sad and I'm glad team Ichabbie took him down.

Jim: I agree with Stacy, it was an interesting story and he was creeeeeeepy! Stacy - Ichabbie? Really? Why not, Ababod? Ok, that's worse.. Ichabbie it is then.

Whitney: I thought the Pied Piper was a decent villain and the family curse was heartbreaking. His speed was also pretty impressive, yet they still found a way to beat him.

Hank: As I mentioned in my review for Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Episode 4, the Pied Piper is right up there with last season's Sandman for me. Loved the way the Lancaster betrayal tied into the present day curse.

Favorite Ichabodism?

Stacy: There were a few good ones this week. The coffee scene was funny, but I have to go with his reaction to the noise-cancelling ear buds. Watching him snapping his fingers next to his ears was pretty silly.

Jim: Glad Stacy picked the ear-buds because I rewound and watched Ichabod take that first drink of latte three times. His "Ohhh I could see how this could be popular" line while revelling in the coffee embrace was sooo good!

Whitney: I have to agree with Stacy, I loved the ear buds reaction. He was so captivated by it and I was dying laughing. Also, of course Betsy Ross had the hots for Icahbod. OF COURSE.

Hank: Probably the opening sequence where Crane is preparing to drive. "How challenging must it be to guide the power of 300 horses using only ones right foot." Brilliant!

Hawley seems to be a Han Solo-type rogue, will he come around? Think he knew who the flute's buyer was?

Stacy: I don't think he knew who the buyer was. He doesn't seem like the type to ask questions as long as he's getting paid. He did genuinely seem to care about the girl in this episode and fought to save her, so I think there's hope for him.

Jim: Did you catch him warning Ichabod about the items in his bag? I suspect that Hawley is in denial right now and knows a LOT more than he is ready to admit. But, I don't think he knew who the buyer was. After all, that is the point of a middle man.

Whitney: I hope Hawley comes around! He fits in with the team perfectly and he brings a lot of knowledge. I don't think he would have known who the buyer was but you never know on this show.

Hank: I get the same feeling as Jim. Hawley knows more than he's letting on. Perhaps Henry's even planted him as a spy? I'm hoping Hawley is a good guy, but all signs point to him being a traitor. Hope I'm wrong.

Was Irving's vision a premonition? Is he destined to fight alongside the Horseman of War?

Stacy: That was definitely creepy. I'm still mad he didn't think twice about the pen drawing blood, but I have a feeling our heroes will find a way to get him out of it. They're good at finding loopholes.

Jim: I think it was a premonition of things to come if he doesn't find a way to change things. Though, to be honest, Irving dressed like Rambo in black pants and black tank-top felt more silly than scary.

Whitney: I do think that was a premonition and I got a kick out of seeing Orlando Jones like that. The team will definitely need to find a way to save Frank because he is headed down a dark, dark road.

Hank: Henry totally tricked him, that's got to backfire on the Horseman of War no? As Stacy says there has to be a loophole. I think that vision is just one possible future for Irving.

Why did Henry grind and taste the bone flute? Any guesses what he's up to?

Stacy: I have no idea what that was about. Maybe now he can whistle or hum the tune and put women in the trance? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Jim: Didn't you know? Powered bone flute is Henry's secret ingredient for his award winning pumpkin pie. But it has to be just the right consistency or it will ruin the whole recipe.

Whitney: I have no idea what Henry was doing with that crushed up bone. I do like that we are seeing little things each episode from Henry that will add up to something major at the end. They are planting the seeds for an epic war and I am so ready for it.

Hank: Eeeew Pumpkin pie, hilarious Jim. Everything Henry's collecting will somehow play a part in bringing Sleepy Hollow under his spell. The town model and now the flute. I have a bad feeling Moloch will cross over this time around.

I believe I know what threat we're facing. Ms Sara was not lost, she was lured into these woods by a creature of legend. This instrument belongs to a Pied Piper.

Ichabod

Beth: When I was 7 he took my sister. He takes one child or the curse takes them all. Abbie haven't you ever prayed for something from your past to just go away? Refuse to believe that it's true.
Abbie: This is not who you are. Let me help you.
Ichabod: My good lady. A great evil has taken control of your legacy. For your sake and the sake of all of your children trust us. We can make this right.
