Exactly what, or who, is the Darkness coming in Supernatural Season 11?
Well, if you were hoping to find some answers when the photos for Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1 were released, you can release your breath now. You won't find them here. I don't think.
There is a baby in the photos, which could mean the Darkness will take on the form of an infant...and it will grow really fast into a formidable foe? Or nothing of the sort. Who knows?!
Until we do know, gaze in wide wonder at Cas, Crowley, Sam and Dean and tune in Wed., Oct. 7 at 9/8 for the premiere.

1. Bloody Angel - Supernatural
Castiel is battered and bloodied and perhaps blind? Things do not look good for this fallen angel, and if the trailer is any indication, he's out for even more blood.
2. Roll Out the Barrel - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Castiel on a rampage? Is that what we're going to see? I have no idea what's next for this poor angel, but something tells me we're not going to like the direction his story is heading.
3. Still Standing - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Nothing really gets Crowley down, not even spells that his mother tries to cast to bury his ass. Not that I mind, he's a favorite. The trailer teases he's back to his old fun self, too!
4. Hello Boys - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Crowley likes to talk to young men in pairs, apparently. When the Winchester brothers aren't around, he'll find another pair of young men to take their place! What do you think he knows about the Darkness? Was she ever mentioned in his social circles?
5. Hello Sam! - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
It's Sam! How we've missed you, Sam. The brothers will be up against the Darkness, a pre-biblical foe who was defeated by God years ago. Sam is shown reaching out to God in the trailer. Can he be of help again? You'd think he might be angry the Winchesters released Darkness after it's already been banished.
6. Hey Baby - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
There's a baby, but neither Sam nor Dean looks very pleased at its appearance. Word is Darkness will take on the form of a specific entity, and a she to boot. Could it start out as a baby, and this one in particular? That wouldn't be a reason to smile.
7. Unwelcome - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Again, this isn't the tone you'd expect Dean to take upon a happy occassion such as the birth of a baby, right? So what is up with the baby? We don't have too long to wait to find out!
8. Baby Daddy - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
From the photos, it appears this is the baby daddy, but it's unclear how the sherriff fits into the narrative. She's later in a wheelchair. If she's the mother, she was working very late into her pregnancy!
9. Wheelchair - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Dean and Sam are helping out a friend. And they're still arguing while doing it. Something just doesn't feel right about this episode at all, right? Darkness, indeed!
10. Sexy Sneer - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
That is one sexy sneer coming off the face of Dean Winchester! If handing big weapons outside a hospital does that to the man, then they should park the Impala nearby the infirmed more often! Oh shush. Admit it, he's hot.
11. Dipstick - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Dean is taking care of his girl. He probably has a closer relationship with his Impala than any other lady he'll meet in his lifetime. However, if he should have one similar, it's good to know how well cared for she will be.
12. Bambino Protection - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Dean is providing protection for the sheriff and the baby inside the halls of the hospital. Against what, is the question. Has the Darkness already arrived or is there something else at play for the premiere?
13. Cautionary Peek - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Dean takes a cautionary peek down the hall before proceeding any further. Hey, he's protecting a baby. So while he didn't smile once in any of these photos, at least he continues to take his job seriously!
14. Patient Needs Help! - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Sam is in the hospital seemingly minding his own business while things appear to fall to hell behind him. Whatever is going down is leaving bodies bloodied and battered in its wake. Some hospital, right?
15. Incoming - Supernatural Season 11 Episode 1
Dean and Sam are wheeling in the patient, although this photo is a little misplaced. We'll soon find out just where it belongs in the scope of things and what kind of entity they're dealing with as the premiere airs on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9/8!
