The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16 Review: The Capricorn Killer

After all that drama, Red didn't even get the bones back. But one thing we did find out on The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16 was the bones have to be bigger than Katarina Rostova.

What would be the point of Garvey going public with them if they only belonged to a former spy? No. They have to belong to someone much more influential, but we're certainly not going to be finding out who anytime soon.

All we can do is guess, and I don't even know where to begin.

Red Isn't Playing Around - The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16

Garvey's plan is also not clear.

Boy, do I hate that guy. He is one smarmy dude. A real stain on society, and I wish Red would just cut out his tongue and rip him to pieces like he said he would if Garvey ever mentioned Liz's name again.

There has to be more to his story, some reason why he doesn't go public with the bones.

He wants something from Red, but what?

We were never given details on the Nash Syndicate (at least I don't remember any details), so maybe it has something to do with that. Maybe the powers that be in that Syndicate want Red to join them.

But that doesn't make sense unless Garvey is the ringleader and that hasn't been made clear, either.

Garvey on the Scene - The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16

I can't say I'm disappointed in Red for trying to make a deal with Garvey. The bones are very important to him, and we know he's willing to do anything to get them back, so it's not surprising that he's holding off on killing the bastard.

And I'm confident that once Red gets the bones back, Garvey is good as dead. He might even let Liz have at him to do what she wants with him.

Think about it.

Even though Liz got her badge back (and we'll get to that bombshell in a few), it's evident she's willing to color outside the lines. Liz probably dreams about the stuff she'd like to do Garvey for killing Tom.

I doubt that she wants to see him go to jail. She's got too much rage inside her to let him off that easy.

Everything that happened with Dr. Fulton might just be set up for what's to come with Garvey.  And Red knows it which could be why he's willing to play with fire.

I don't know why Liz wouldn't have figured out that Red was behind the kidnapping of the witness. Everything that Aram told her sounded like one of Red's operations, but she was too shocked about it all to realize it at first.

Obviously based on the previews, she figures it out. I can't imagine she's going to want to maintain a relationship with Red knowing what he did, but I also don't think she's going to be completely done with him.

I'll bet my bottom dollar that he knows what Liz did with the doctor.

But before we get to that crazy twist, was anyone else worried that Aram might die when the witness was taken? There was a moment when I thought Aram wouldn't make it, and I was prepared to be royally pissed, but it didn't happen. Still, it was a scary thought.

Aram Stands Up to Garvey - The Blacklist Season 5 Episode 16

I almost fell over when Aram went to get the witness and ran into Garvey!!! Didn't Harold tell him that Garvey was the suspect? Of course, he had no idea that the guy was Garvey, so we can't be too upset that he spilled the beans about the witness.

And who didn't cheer when Aram stood up to Garvey?! Aram is so quiet, but he packed quite the punch when he told Garvey to back off. The little bald man can't intimidate everyone, and I was happy Aram told Liz he was going hunting for Garvey and wouldn't stop until he found him.

He's going to help Liz in some way, too when Liz gets down to business with Garvey. I bet they all will. None of them want to see Garvey go to jail, and since they've all already sold their souls, does it really matter?

Now, let's get to whopper that was Liz and Dr. Fulton.

It was in the back of my mind that maybe Fulton was the killer so when that was revealed, I wasn't too surprised. But I have to admit, I still gasped at that reveal like an idiot.

What clued me in was that Fulton didn't go completely nuts when Liz got the agent's medical file. Fulton knew she'd turn to Red. She was counting on it.

Confronting Her Dark Side - The Blacklist

What was more surprising was that Liz let her go. Liz would have been reinstated eventually even if Liz would have taken Dr. Fulton into custody. But they made a deeper connection out there in the woods.

Fulton hit home by bringing the Sandman to the cabin to entice Liz into her sick inner circle. If Ressler hadn't barged in, Liz would have suffocated the guy. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

I can't wait to see how Liz and Fulton's relationship is going to develop. It could turn out that Liz turns to Fulton to help her with Red because that relationship is about to go into the toilet. At least for a little while.

Who's to say that Liz doesn't call on Fulton to capture Red for her? I can see it going that way at the end of the series. I don't necessarily see Red and Liz riding off into the sunset. One of them is going to die. I bet my bottom dollar on it.

Over to you guys.
