Hawaii Five-0: Louis Gossett Jr. Cast as Lou's Dad

Hawaii Five-0 is looking to the past to advance Lou's storyline.
Per TV Line, Louis Gossett has been cast as Lou's father in an episode that will be written by Chi McBride, who plays Lou o the veteran CBS drama.
Louis has had roles in the likes of Extant, Boardwalk Empire, and The Batman. He is also part of the cast of HBO's upcoming Watchmen TV adaptation.
The news comes just one day after it was reported that Mistresses alum Rochelle Aytes had joined the cast as Greer, a CIA operative with a link to McGarrett.
While they were romantically linked in the past, she is now described as "dangerous and not to be trusted."

Aytes will recur throughout Season 9 of the procedural drama.
As previously reported, the season opener will pay homage to the original series' two-part pilot, which was titled "Cocoon."
It will all be part of the 50th-anniversary celebration of the franchise as a whole.
Production on Hawaii Five-0 was shut down earlier this week as a result of Hurricane Lane which has been ravaging Hawaii.
On Thursday, it was billed as a category 4 storm and winds were said to hit around 130 mph.

It's unclear when the series will re-enter production, but it is not expected to affect the previously announced premiere date of September 24.
