What We Do In The Shadows Season 1 Episode 3 Review: Werewolf Feud
Lisa Babick at .There's no better way to escape the problems of the real world than watching a group of ridiculous vampires deal with theirs.
Colin stole the show on What We Do In The Shadows Season 1 Episode 3 when he discovered a new vampire had joined his office pool.
Colin keeps getting better and better.
He thought he was the king of the office until he figured out that Evie was an actual emotional vampire who was stealing his food right from under him.
He didn't know how to react to his new problem but decided if you can't fight them, join them.
But Evie proved she was far more advanced than he could ever become.

A woman who gathers the office staff to drain them of energy by talking about her cat's medical problems is a queen in Colin's world.
There's an Evie in all of our lives, sucking out our energy with endless stories about the drama happening in ther personal lives.
Colin tried to battle Evie but realized they might work better together than as enemies until he realized she was feasting on him when he least expected it.
Their battle in the late hours after everyone had left for the day, was hilarious.
I never expected that Colin would have levitation powers but there he was hissing like a fool while trying to fight Evie.

It was so utterly goofy watching the two of them face off, but that's the crux of the show and what makes it so addictive.
All of these beings may be what they are, but they all act like we would act if we were pretending to be vampires.
It looks like role-playing to us, but to them it's the real thing. Every second of their absurdity is hilarious.
Colin had the good sense to break it off with Evie after only one date. Had he not, he might not exist anymore.
And like every skilled emotionally distressed woman, she kept sucking him back in before he finally walked away for good.
Still, their interactions both in the park and at dinner, was a lesson for Colin. One he'll never forget anytime soon!
What I'd love to see is Colin facing off with his fellow vamps back at the house.
We've only seen him accompany them to the city council meeting, but I hope he'll be able to spend more time interacting with them.
Can you imagine what would have happened to those werewolves if Colin was around?
They would have ran away in fear once Colin started talking.
But then we wouldn't have had the thrill of seeing Nandor beat the werewolves by throwing a squeaky toy over the side of the building.
Of all the things in his arsenal, he won the battle by playing to a dog's natural instinct to chase something.
The whole werewolf battle was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen, but again, the absurdity of it all is what takes you away.

Werewolves and vampires battling on the roof of a Staten Island building according to the rules of a 1993 decree was classic.
A group of diverse werewolves preparing to fight ancient vampires. Does it get any better?
And the banter between them was great. None of them know how to focus.
I have recently rediscovered my love for topiary sculpture; the art of bush manipulation.
Lazlo
It's too bad we aren't blessed with more time with them all because twenty minutes a week of their zany adventures is way too short.
I loved how Guillermo tried to be one the vamps when he joined in the hissing against the werewolves.
He has to realize how dumb they all look and if that's all it takes to show you're a part of #teamvampire, why couldn't he join in too?
Nandor loves to spoil all of Guillermo's fun, and I'm still waiting for him to exact his revenge on Nandor for not turning him into one of them on his anniversary.
But while both battles were entertaining, Lazlo taking on a tour of his topiary garden had me on the floor.

A vampire with a hobby whose pride and joy was the sculpture of his mother's vulva. I'm still laughing.
It's hard to remember that the vamps are living in the real world with real neighbors until you get to meet one and can delight in how the vampires can effectively shut down annoying and nosy neighbors.
Maybe Lazlo can come live with me for a while?
