Grey's Anatomy Promotes Three Actors Ahead of Season 16

Now that we've had some time to do a happy dance because Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for two seasons, it's time to look at the cast of the upcoming season. 

There's good news for fans of three recurring players.

Deadline is reporting that Chris Carmack, Jake Borelli and Greg Germann have all been promoted to series regulars for Grey's Anatomy Season 16.

“Chris, Jake, and Greg have been recurring for us as guest stars and have popped as fan favorites,” Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement.

“We are excited to continue revealing their characters and we are beyond thrilled to welcome them to the Grey’s Anatomy family.”

All Good - Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 25

Carmack and Germann  joined the show this season as Dr. Atticus Lincoln (aka “Link”) and Dr. Thomas Koracick, respectively. 

Borelli joined in a recurring capacity during Grey's Anatomy Season 14, but his role has gradually become more prominent. 

ABC confirmed Grey's Anatomy would remain on the air until 2021 earlier today, meaning that leading lady, Ellen Pompeo likely extended her contract beyond 2020.

Grey's Anatomy remains ABC's top-rated series among adults 18-49. Season to date, the show is averaging a 1.6 rating in live + same day metrics. 

Grey's Anatomy Season 15 Episode 25, airing May 16 is the season finale. Titled, "Jump into the Fog," it sounds like a wild episode. 

"As fog begins to cover Seattle, the doctors of Grey Sloan navigate through personal complications," according to the official logline.
