Originally from Fort Lauderdale, FL, Megan Smith graduated from Yale and is trying to make it as a writer. She initially took a job writing for a magazine in New York City, but soon realized all she was writing was tabloid fluff pieces. When she tries to make a piece about a club opening something it's not, she's fired, but recommended for another job in Palm Beach, Florida.
Her new job is as the tutor for the spoiled Baker sister under the employment of the rich and powerful Laurel Limonges. Her job is to make sure the girls get into Yale, but for some reason, her job seems to take on all sort of extra duties.
