Privileged Officially Canceled

Although things were looking promising for a season two renewal for Privileged, it looks like Megan and crew will not be returning next season according to Ausiello Files.

Series creator Rina Mimoun said the news, "It's truly heartbreaking."  Mimoun at least had the heartful words to say, "I'm so grateful to everyone out there who supported our little show and fell in love with Megan Smith."

Mimoun continued, "She was the most delightful character I've ever had the pleasure to write and watching JoAnna Garcia bring her to life every day was a gift I will never forget. I'm incredibly proud of the work we did and forever indebted to all the fans, critics and to Warner Bros. for being so wonderful and supportive."

We're not sure if she's right, but Rina claims, "I will miss this more than you know."  I don't know, we were kind of fanatics.

Privileged Renewal: Looking Good!

It's been a while since we heard on the Privileged front, but with the CW starting to air season one repeats on Fridays, things are certainly looking up for the show.

Now according to TV Guide, "the CW is digging Rina Mimoun's outline for Season 2, which she presented just a few weeks ago."  They believe the show is getting close to being picked up, but that the show will likely air on Friday nights this season.

Friday night graveyard shift is better than no renewal to us!

Privileged Scoop: Summer Reruns, Possible Pickup

Prepare to squeal with delight, Privileged fans:

Despite numerous rumors to the contrary, the show may very well return for a second season.

A source close to the series told Michael Ausiello that The CW will run repeats of the cult favorite on Fridays at 8 pm/EST throughout the summer.

This move would be exceptionally odd if the network was not likely to bring back the Joanne Garcia-based show for another season.

"It's definitely a positive sign," said a source, adding that there's no official word yet about a second season.

Still, Privileged viewers have a strong reason to feel optimistic for the first time in awhile.

Privileged Recap: "All About a Brand New You!"

Last night was the season (and possibly series?) finale of Privileged and as sad as we were to watch it, we were glad to see some much action packed into one episode!  The episode centered around Marco and Keith's wedding but also featured two breakups and a one night stand!

So which of our happy couples broke up and who had the one night stand?  Find out the answers to these question and so much more in our "All About a Brand New You!" recap.

We've also put together largest collection of pictures from the episode since this was the season finale of the episode.  Here's some of our favorite screen caps:

Privileged Interview with JoAnna Garcia

TVGuide recently got to sit down with the beautiful JoAnna Garcia to discuss the season one finale of Privileged and its chance at a second season.  Here's a small excerpt from the interview, which we leaned heavily towards the season finale spoilers:

TVGuide.com: So sell us and sell us hard on the season finale. What's going down?
Garcia:
A lot! It's all about love — the beginnings of love, the end of love.... We shot a jam-packed, huge finale..

TVGuide.com: Like with explosions and helicopter chases?
Garcia:
No, but there's a wedding! And there's alcohol involved, and a one-night stand. But really and truly, the future of this show is about Megan's life outside of the mansion, outside of the girls. We've added a new cast member to play an editor, and he's got an amazing storyline. The season finale is going to show you really what the show is about.

TVGuide.com: Let's talk about this new editor, David, and give his portrayer a name — Robert Buckley. If there's a Season 2, is he definitely returning?
Garcia:
Yes. As a full-on series regular.

Megan and Her New Boss

TVGuide.com: Do you see David as being the "Big" to Megan's "Carrie"?
Garcia:
You're going to find that David and Megan have a lot in common, but they deal with their pasts in very different ways. I think they'll be soul mates in a way, but there will be a roller-coaster of a journey to get to a place where they can see eye-to-eye and appreciate that.

TVGuide.com: So, no necking in the season finale?
Garcia:
Probably not. [Laughs]

You can read the rest of the interview, including when TV Guide asks about JoAnna Garcia dating Robert Buckley in real life at TV Guide.

Privileged Preview: "All About a Brand New You"

Tomorrow night's episode of Privileged, "All About a Brand New You" is the season finale and possibly the series finale if ratings don't pick up.  Luckily the episode looks to be fantastic with Marco and Keith planning their wedding with special guest Kathy Griffin as the wedding planner!

Meanwhile, Rose and Sage are about to have one heck of a fight as Rose ditches Sage on their annual Spring Break trip to Aspen.  How is Sage going to take this just a few short weeks after Rose moved out of her room?  In the following clip, we see Rose talk to Megan about ditching the trip and what she plans on doing instead:

Someone's Getting Some on Privileged

Remember how last week we reported that there will be two breakups during Privileged's season finale on February 24th?  Well, we just learned from Korbi TV that one of the newly single girls will sleep with someone before the end of the finale.

OMG.  Our guess?  Megan and her new Editor in Chief, David Besser (played by the gorgeous Robert Buckley).  What do you guys think?  Who's getting some on Privileged?

Privileged Recap: "All About Betrayal"

There may have been no Charlie on last night's Privileged, but there was still plenty of drama to enjoy!  We had a new man introduced that looks to be causing problems between Megan and Will and this time it was their Editor in Chief of their new magazine, David Besser (played by the adorable Robert Buckley).

Megan and Her New Boss

Rose and Sage, meanwhile, had a little fight of their own as Sage was keeping her secret from Rose, who was trying to find out more about their grandfather.  Oh and did we mention Marco was trying to win back Keith from the grips of a woman!?  Yeah, there's plenty of drama to catch up on in our "All About Betrayal" recap.

Privileged Interview: JoAnna Garcia on Set

We found some very cute interviews by the CW Source with JoAnna Garcia of Privileged.  While these interviews seem to be dated with their supposed Privileged spoilers, they are still fun to watch.

In the first part, JoAnna Garcia talks about Megan's mother on the show.  Watch the video and enjoy.

In the second part of the interview, JoAnna talks about her relationship with Will and Charlie confessing (which yes, already happened!).  Watch the video after the jump.

Privileged Spoilers: Two Breakups

The Privileged season one finale is coming up and according to Korbi TV, we can expect to see two breakups in the finale.  Now the question we're all asking is who?  The following is our analysis.

We're definitely down to just three couples on the show at this point: Megan and Will, Rose and Zach, and Sage and Luis.  We're not going to count Marco and Keith since they're not together and Charlie has left the show for the season as of last episode.

Megan Goes to the BarSage at the Dinner PartyRose Dressed Up

From the recent Lucy Kate Hale interview we posted, we know that Zach is here to stay for season two so we're going to go out on a limb and assume our other two core couples are done for.

Megan and Will are obviously going through a rough patch after Megan kissed Charlie.  Sage and Luis seemed to be strong at the end of last night's episode, but based on what Sage confessed to at the end I don't think she'll last in any relationship right now.

Well, those are just our guesses!  What do you guys think?  Sound off in the comments!
