He's a different species: psycopath. We see more green because we need to eat more greens.

We were primates for much longer than we were human or human-like. As primates that ate leaves, it was beneficial to know which leaves have less of the plant's protective toxin in them. Younger leaves are lighter green and have less toxins. Additionally, the color red can be used on certain leaves to tell which leaves are young. And by seeing more shades of green we are much more likely to correctly identify different species of plants correctly and thus gain nutrients and avoid poisons. If it were true that green was a predator-detection device, then most of the prey would see various shades of green as well. Most large herbivores see in grayscale, some detect yellow or blue to some degree, but few need to see green at all. The predator thing is good storytelling, but that's it.

Perhaps the real question isn't in the question itself but why he was even asking one at all? Consider the person, All good killers have a way becoming what they are. It's not something you just do. It's not as simple as drawing breathe. No ordinary day at the beach. There are rules. From the first time you think about it you begin to plan. Henceforth rules; Though an evolutionary learning process non-the- less. What begins as A brutal and bloody mosh pit swan song dove into the most beautiful ballet of perfection that death has ever seen. Everyday life is a struggle. A lack of comprehension an emotion for a world that shuns the real you. The one you keep hidden deep down inside just waiting to stretch his legs. All the while you copy the real world to be able to blend in so others don't see the real you hiding just beneath. So I'll cut to the chase because I'm getting tired of my own typing and if you can't see where I'm going with this....well then I like mint jelly with my lamb chops. Rare, very rare. Point is; for all the times the show be totes about The "killer" being against rules a person of this very nature lives by a precise set of rules of his own. Some even go as far as to use a spiritual nature or religion to guide their sociopathic tendencies. So when a man who has defined his own rules is caught by rules he has a hard time recognizing. Naturally the need to show how much smarter he is than those he caught by is a more logical answer. Nothing more. If you didn't already know he was a predator, you haven't been watching the show

So primates are evolved to detect a wider variety of the color they look at most often, green. So that when something doesnt fit into their normal array of green background, their brain says....Threat. Lorne is a predator, and as such must be good at appearing to blend into to the green background of everyday life. It's the old sociopath/nice guy or wolf in sheeps clothing etc..

It's just about evolution and adaptation. He adapted to his situation by taking the identity of a minister and acting his way out if prison. This adaptation or evolution is the same as humans developing a strong sense of the colour green and being able to differentiate different shades of green in order to survive. so both the act of taking ministers identity and having a strong sense of green are survival tactics. ..simple!

Einstein, it's the cart before the horse, an eye sees green due to evolution of predators.
