In the closing moments of last week's installment we met a mysterious man marked up with alien glyph tattoos.

This same man picks up a woman at a bar. It's the last mistake she'll ever make, because the stranger kills her and carves the glyphs on her body.

Coulson's own carving compulsion is out of control. While it was a monthly event before, he's now carving daily. "It wants us to know" he tells Skye.

Skye is aware the alien writing is a map. However after much research she is no closer to solving what the map means. Coulson is determined to get some answers, so they head to the victim's apartment.

The woman was an ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and our heroes soon realize she had also been obsessively drawing the glyphs.

Elsewhere, though May and the others have been tailing Ward he's managed to evade capture at every turn. The guy is good.

Simmons performs an autopsy on the ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and discovers she had GH.325 in her blood. Actually, DNA found under her nails informs the team her killer also had GH.325 in his blood. Coulson quickly realizes they're dealing with project T.A.H.I.T.I. patients.

Because he ran the T.A.H.I.T.I. project, Coulson asks his team to torture any information out of him. Using a memory machine, Coulson relives the GH.325 trials.

At first everything seemed to be working fine, the patients were responding to the formula without side effects. However, they eventually became unstable drawing the alien glyphs obsessively. In his flashback, Coulson manages to identify the killer. He was the only patient that carved the glyphs on his body.

When Coulson visits the only other GH trial survivor, he's confronted and knocked out by the killer. After torturing our favorite director, Coulson manages to break free and is "enlightened" when he sees a 3D model of the mysterious alien map. He gets the killer to set eyes on the model curing both their carving compulsions.

Coulson finally understands the alien glyphs are a city map, but where is this city? Is it even on Earth?

Meanwhile, Ward arranges a meeting with HYDRA. Things do not go as Bakshi expected though as Ward kills all the HYDRA agents and delivers Sunil Bakshi to Coulson as a gift.

This is the first of many gifts Ward promises Skye when he contacts her via Bakshi's mobile phone.

Before taking any further action, Ward must check in with his brother Christian for a little family reunion.
