Recap

On American Idol's special Wild Card round, the judges had a surprise for viewers:

Unable to choose between four talented, aspiring singers, Simon, Kara, Randy and Paula actually named 13 finalists for season eight.

After Jasmine Murray (who impressed with Christina Aguilera’s “Reflection”) and Megan Joy Corkrey (who went with KT Tunstall’s “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree”) advanced to the finals, it came down to Anoop Desai and Matt Giraud. Each was called to the stage.

At that point, Simon informed Giraud that he'd be remaining on the show.

Instead of being sent home, though, Anoop was told that this season’s math was changing: He was officially the last of the new Top 13. Shocked, he covered his face with his hands.

We're not even gonn mention Tatiana Del Toro, whoc performed Whitney Houston's "Saving All My Love For You," and then kneeled and pleaded for a spot from the judges. From there, Ryan Seacrest came on stage and told her she didn't have to get up off her knees.

"Family show, family show," DioGuardi said.

It was a lame ratings ploy on Idol's part to name Tatiana as a Wild Card in the first place. For shame.
