In Chicago, Van Alden agrees to go out with his coworkers despite being the victim of a prank. He finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time on this installment of Boardwalk Empire. Nucky is plagued by bad dreams and has trouble sleeping. He meets with Gyp Rosetti and negotiates a compromise, but later offends the New Yorker when he fails to see him off. Gillian's roof is leaking and calls her partner Lucky in New York to complain. Lucky is unsympathetic as he is more concerned with he and Meyer's heroin business. Richard brings Mickey before Nucky after he hears the bootlegger had been taking credit for Manny's murder. Margaret gets Nucky to the church on time to receive his award from the bishop. While in his grace's prescence she schemes to get changes at the hospital made.
