Zack’s hearing is in two weeks. Hodgins still stands by the evidence he found that clears Zack, but neither Cam nor Brennan believe him. 

Booth asks Dr. Gordan Wyatt to review Sweets files on Zack before his hearing. Gordon believes that they need to find Gormogon’s previous apprentice, who was supposedly killed ten years ago and his body was never found. With Gordon’s help, Zack tracks down the buried body of the apprentice. If the blood on the body matches the lobbyist, it may be enough to clear Zack. 

Dustin Doyle is found in pieces in a hay bale. Dustin was a suspect in multiple accounts of breaking and entering. They believe he was involved in a bank robbery before his death. Dustin mom has Parkinson’s disease and her medication can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000 a month. 

Dustin was also competing in the demolition derby. Gordon convinces Booth and Brennan to go undercover in the derby. The reprise their roles as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw. They find out that Dustin had two partners, who turned on him because they were upset when they thought that Dustin had taken part of the bank money. Turns out Charlene, the bank teller took $20,000 for herself during the robbery. 

Rudolfo gets his doctorate and Cam gives him his new Jeffersonian lab coat, but he decides not to wear it. He knows he’ll have to leave the Jeffersonian to find a position as a doctor of forensic anthropology, and wearing the coat will just make it hard to go.
