I wonder why am I only just seeing this program now, 3 years later. I enjoyed it very much! It must have been placed against some steep competition in 2009.

This is a very decent episode. I have found the subsequent ones to sometimes be too silly. I enjoy the wit and humor, and the relationship between the male-lead and his daughter (and the mother-Susan Sullivan-is wonderful), but let's keep the plotline and action reasonably credible, hmm?
And, especially as the male lead-Nathan Fillion-has been excellent in some serious roles.

What jerks! Why was my comment deleted?
Yes, you are correct about the pilot episode, though it was hard to find this online. I happen to know this, as the episodie is being aired right now, on ABC (9-30-12).

I thought season 1 episode 1 was named "Flowers for your grave".
