Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 9 featured shock at the forefront. As we were reminded that we cannot always be prepared for life, shock can often save us and protect us when we need it the most.

Things got crazy at the hospital when a woman ran her car along with her two kids over a bridge. Meredith eventually found a benign tumor that was believed to be the cause of the accident. 

Meanwhile, Meredith kept busy while Derek packed his bags for D.C. She also met with a nanny who she might soon employ.

Elsewhere, Jackson told April the terrible news about their baby. As both struggled to deal with the tragic news, they both relied on one another at the end realizing that things would only get more challenging.

At first, Dr. Herman was extremely upset that Arizona dug into her brain tumor case and discussed it with Arizona. However, Dr. Herman came around and decided that she would give Amelia a shot.

Derek and Meredith touched base at the end of the installment as they both wanted to try to make their marriage work. It appears that Derek is still moving to D.C. and they both will try to figure it out.
