On this week's Person of Interest…
The Machine came up with a new number: Zoe Morgan
Reese acts as Zoe's personal driver and learns that she is a "fixer." She works in making deals with different people to fix their problems.
Unfortunately, when she takes a job for a pharmaceutical company in retrieving a secret audio tape, they attempt to kill her when she is done. Reese saves her and the two work together to discover what was on the tape and get back at the company that tried to eliminate her.
While the audio was believed to be hiding evidence of an affair, Finch discovers that it was really about a drug that killed people and the whistleblower who would have told everything.
Reese, Finch, and Zoe manage to stop the corrupt businessmen from killing them and even destroy the company financially.
Zoe leaves, but hints at seeing Reese again.
Meanwhile, Detective Carter takes on a homicide case involving an alleged murder victim of an old cold case involving M. Elias. She calls upon a retired detective to help her, and she learns of the murdered woman's only child being possibly connected to the present day murder.
The retired detective is found dead, but Carter manages to retrieve blood from the killer.
