Recap

The drama between Pam and Michael was put on hold this week as the office harped on Michael over his most recent gaffe.

The episode opened with the Dunder-Mifflin crew awaiting the arrival of a group of kids who were visiting to see the haunted house.

Kelly sported a "Fifth Element" costume. Meredith dressed as a hobo. Michael? Why ... oh, just look at the picture.

The majority of the episode centered around Michael falling into a koi pond while at a business meeting with Jim — a trip he alone was going to make until corporate insisted Michael accompany him.

He stepped on and killed a fish in the process. With Jim holding a grudge because corporate felt he needed babysitting, he stood by as Michael continued making a big splash. Har har.

Laid-back Jim, the dude who doesn’t take work stuff too seriously, is slowly evolving into a stern businessman and the power struggle between him and Michael is becoming an issue.

Moreover, Michael, in an attempt to divert attention away from his gaffe by making fun of himself, revealed his insecurities in front of the staff. It was awkwardly hilarious.

Truthfully, it wasn't the way he fell in, it was... how long it took him to get out.
