When Lisa learns her mother was once an A+ student like her during a trip to Marge's childhood home, she tries to figure out where it all went wrong, sending her to be a housewife.  Lisa eventually learns it's due to Homer and doesn't want her public school education to distract her.  After finding a nice private academy she wants to attend, Marge makes an amazing sacrifice and agrees to stay up all night and do the school's laundry in order to get Lisa in.  When Lisa learns the truth of how she's going to school,she's ready to go back to public school and be just like her mom.

Bart, meanwhile, keeps accidentally beating up Nelson at school and is crowned the new school bully.  Marge eventually convinces him to be nice to Nelson and it gets him out of a real fight with Nelson.

Homer spends the episode trying to get the missing Happy Little Elves doll for Maggie and has to break into a gas station to do it.  Small price for his daughter.
