Shailene Woodley is from Simi Valley, California. When she was 15 years old, Shallene was diagnosed with scoliosis and was forced to wear a giant brace to straighten out her spine.
Shailene has had roles in the TV-movies Replacing Dad, Felicity: An American Girl Adventure, Once Upon a Mattress, and Final Approach. She has also made appearances on The District, Without a Trace, The O.C. Everybody Loves Raymond, Crossing Jordan, Jack & Bobby, My Name is Earl, Close to Home, CSI: NY, and Cold Case.
Woodley currently stars as Amy Juergens in The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and will be playing Alexandra in The Descendants.
In 2010, Shailene won the Gracie Award for Outstanding Female Rising Star in a Drama Series.
