The Vampire Diaries Round Table: Staroline 2.0?

at .

On The Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 16, Caroline shut her humanity off and (sort of) proved it's possible for a vampire to feel nothing and not go completely off the rails.

But then she coerced Stefan to shut his humanity off and we all know what happens next: Ripper Stefan!

What did the Round Table think of this little twist in Caroline's game? Join Paul Dailly, Amanda Steinmetz, Miranda Wicker and Crissy Calhoun of Love You to Death for more of our thoughts. Then jump into the comments below with yours! We want to hear from you!

What was your favorite quote or scene from "The Downward Spiral?"

Paul: Favorite scene has got to be the concluding one with Stefan and Caroline getting ready to party away. It was so much fun with Elena screaming down the phone at him, and he didn't care. Elena Gilbert must be annoyed that he isn't listening to her. It's about time this happened.

Crissy: I loved Bonnie's freak out when she made Damon feel all the pain she'd felt. Kat Graham is the master of the one-tear angry face.

Amanda: It's a tie between Caroline telling Elena she had a gift for making everything about her (because it's so true!), and the closing shot of Stefan handing over the cell phone to Caroline and the camera pulling away slowly.

Miranda: That tiny little moment when Stefan mixed up a margarita, took a sip, and then told Elena he was fine. Loved it! Major props go to Bonnie dealing with being back in the world again. We sort of skipped that with Damon because he returned to the fold. Bonnie was gone for way longer AND she was completely alone while there. She's different.

Do you love or hate humanity-less Caroline?

Paul: I'm indecisive. She sure was fun, but at the same time we know this isn't going to last long. She is going to turn super evil now that she has a companion in Stefan. She did have some funny lines, but I'm hoping she reverts to her normal self soon.

Crissy: Love her. She is smart as heck and sure knows her way out of a boring situation.

Amanda: I love this side of Caroline! She says what the audience is pretty much thinking and is hilarious. Obviously this isn't going to last forever, so I'm sure we'll get the old Caroline back soon. Also, I'm not convinced Stefan really turned off his humanity. He could be faking it. Although, I do love when Ripper Stefan comes out. He's good with the quips too!

Miranda: I want to keep her forever and ever. It's always great (for me) when a character says what the audience has been thinking because it shows the writers are paying attention, and Caroline was full of meta moments. I'm sure I would tire of bitchy, no-holds-barred Caroline at some point, but wow is that side of her a breath of fresh air.

And the best Caroline Forbes quote from "The Downward Spiral" was...

Paul: "Liam! The boy I forgot existed!"

Crissy: The line about Elena making everything about herself was pretty on point.

Amanda: "I compelled a student to perform surgery on Stefan's niece, and you found a way to make this about you? God, you truly have a gift, Elena."

Miranda: "Elena, I shut off my humanity. I didn't turn into an idiot. The last thing I want to do is give you a reason to ruin my life."

Lily Salvatore is a ripper. React:

Paul: This was a really cool twist. I never saw it coming at all. I'm interested to find out what's next.

Crissy: Who knew ripperdom was genetic!?

Amanda: I didn't see this one coming, and I don't know how I feel about it yet. Meeting Mama Salvatore could be interesting, but I hate it when the show ignores death altogether and just keeps bringing people back. So I'm not crazy about Lily being alive when her sons thought she was dead this whole time.

Miranda: I'm a little unsure where this is going. I'm definitely intrigued by the fact that Mama Salvatore is a mass murderer, but why bring her up now? I'm intrigued by whatever the writers have planned for this twist.

Staroline is off limits! Name the Caroline-Stefan humanity-less vampire duo:

Paul: Elena Haters.

Crissy: Margarita Madness.

Amanda: Undead Bonnie and Clyde.

Miranda: Meta Monsters.

How long until Bonnie melts Kai's face off?

Paul: Not long at all. His time will come and Bonnie will be waiting to take him down like he did to her.

Crissy: I wanna see Bonnie cause so much havoc. I'm more worried about the hell she is going to raise, rather than Caroline and Stefan. Bring it, Bon-Bon!

Amanda: Probably not very long. Bonnie is ready for payback, and it will be awesome to watch.

Miranda: We've always held out hope for a Dark!Bonnie and I really hope whatever happened to her over there forces her to go to that place because it doesn't feel like she's ever really surrendered to the more sinister and vindictive side of her nature. I'd love to see that and as much as I enjoy Kai, he's a perfect target for her wrath. Commence face melting, Bon Bon!
