Is Felix's neurotic behavior escalating or has it always been this bad?
We're only six episodes in, but his hypochondria seems like it came out of nowhere. Chances are it'll be dropped completely and we'll never hear of it again.
Granted, the paranoia he exhibits in The Odd Couple Season 1 Episode 6 definitely fits the character.
We know he's obsessed with cleanliness and a germaphobe, but I had no idea it would be this bad. Are there doctors who would actually allow someone to have a standing weekly appointment? I can't imagine how Sharon managed to put up with him as long as she did.
I'm surprised Felix allowed Oscar to go to his doctor in the first place. She's young, attractive, and likes sports...pretty much exactly Oscar's type. How did it not occur to him that they might hit it off? I'm with Oscar on this one – Felix never should have made him go to his doctor. Next time, suggest an urgent care.
I think this roommate situation may not be working out so well for them. Felix seems to be rubbing off on Oscar more than the other way around, which is not going to help Felix win his ex-wife back any time soon. I was a little surprised Oscar let him get into his head so easily. Once Sharon was in his bed, I figured Oscar would have thrown caution to the wind and gone for it.
Oscar squirting the hand sanitizer into his drink made me cringe. Maybe someone should tell him that alcohol already is a sanitizer.
I don't like Emily at all, but I was annoyed with Felix for dismissing her fear of polio as a kid (assuming she really was a kid at the time, who knows with her). It's weird that he can't see that his fears are just as irrational as hers were, and he's an adult. I thought her story made a good point and it's obvious she legitimately cares about him.
With all of the doctors he probably has on speed dial, I sure hope number one is his psychiatrist.
I wonder if the inspiration from this episode was rooted in the Ebola epidemic at all. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have never been to an affected country that watch the news and become paranoid they might have it. It must be awful to live in constant fear like that.
The subplot with Dani putting the chair together is barely even worth mentioning. It was completely random until Sharon sat in it at the end. It felt like the writers needed to fill some time and find a way to incorporate Dani into the story and just went with the first thing that came to mind.
