The Odd Couple Season 1 Episode 7 Review: The Secret Agent Man

at .  Updated at .

Congratulations, The Odd Couple Season 1 Episode 7! You actually made me laugh out loud tonight!

No, I'm not referring to Felix and his ridiculous bird head. It wasn't Oscar's painfully unfunny appearance on the show either.

Unsurprisingly, it was my favorite character Dani who got the chuckle out of me:

Felix: Did you hear that? Very disturbing.
Dani: I know, you call them the Knickerbockers tonight you're gonna get stabbed dead in the men's room.

Seriously, that one line cracked me up. I'm not even a Knicks fan, though I absolutely love basketball. Between NBA playoffs and sweeps, this is my favorite time of year.

Too bad Charles Barkley couldn't have made a guest appearance along with Kenny Smith. That would have made it so much better. Though, with Oscar's performance in there, nothing could have saved it.

I don't get what is supposed to be funny about watching someone make a complete fool out of themselves like that. That was brutal and I just felt really uncomfortable throughout the whole thing. Oscar is lucky to have someone like Teddy looking out for him if that's the sort of thing he prevents.

Is anyone else starting to feel like Oscar was better off without Felix? Felix moving in was supposed to benefit Felix. Oscar was supposed to help him loosen up and work on his neurotic behavior, but all we've really seen so far is Felix inserting himself into Oscar's life. Oscar's life certainly wasn't perfect, but Felix sure isn't making it any better, either.

Oscar tells Teddy after the show that he's an adult who can make his own decisions, but is that really the case? Oscar seems to be very influenced by the people around him. Teddy pretty much immediately shut down the TV idea and Oscar quickly agreed, trusting Teddy's judgment.

Then, only a few minutes later, Felix easily talks him into not only doing the television show, but also to keep it from Teddy. Oscar doesn't even try to argue that consulting his agent, whom he's trusted with his career for years, would be a good idea. He just goes along with Felix.

I'm not sure Oscar actually is capable of making his own decisions. At least he did take responsibility for it when Felix apologized.

Lucky for him, he's got plenty of people around who are more than happy to do it for him.

What did you guys think? Will we be treated to future instances of "Oh yes, I did go there" from Dani? I hope so, it would be nice to see a little continuity.

Remember, you can watch The Odd Couple online any time via TV Fanatic.

NOTE: The Odd Couple Season 1 Episode 8 will be titled "The Unger Games" and will air on Thursday, April 23.

The Odd Couple Season 1 Episode 7 Quotes

Teddy: You already have a great job. You host a national radio show from your apartment. If you want you could do it naked, or eating a pizza, or getting a massage. If you play your cards right, you could do all three at once.
Oscar: That is the dream.

I'm for anything that gets us into a real office. My mom wants to visit me at my job but working out of a single guy's spare bedroom seems a little sketchy.
