Blue Bloods Season 6 Episode 6 Review: Rush to Judgement

The Reagan family was under attack in Blue Bloods Season 6 Episode 6 as Frank’s issues with Reverend Potter spilled over onto the others, specifically Jamie.
The moment Jerry Guerrero saw the name Reagan on Jamie’s uniform it was the equivalent of a shark sensing blood in the water. He couldn’t wait to go in for the kill.
It was ironic that Danny’s the one who gets all of the police brutality complaints but Jamie was the member of the family taking the most heat. As much as I like Jamie, he didn’t handle it all that well.
Jamie was upset with his father over being placed on modified duty as though his father had ordered it. Hasn’t Jamie been a cop long enough to know what happens when someone on the force is being investigated? The person I really felt sympathy for was Frank. He had to deal with the backlash whether he was hands off or if he attempted to help. There was really no way for him to win.
All Frank really seemed to want was to take his son to a movie which was sweet. I thought it was a shame that Jamie didn’t take him up on the offer.
Jamie actually came across almost bratty at the family dinner. I really expected more from him than that. The one thing that I did sort of understand was his trepidation with Eddie. Jamie would never want her to lie for him but when she said she had to look out for herself, I wasn’t sure what she was implying.
The biggest problem I had was that Danny was assigned the rape case against Jerry. With everything else going on, I can’t imagine they’d assign a Reagan to that case.
Frank walked the line when he tried to strike some sort of a deal with Reverend Potter but the Reverend clearly asked for too much as Frank pointed out in his own unique way in this Blue Bloods quote…
Reverend Potter: I've been waiting a long time for this. Frank Reagan coming to me hat in hand.
Frank: I don't wear hats.
As much as Potter tries to take Frank down, it’s clear that on some level, he’s smart enough to realize that his own power comes from having a Frank Reagan to rally against.
Finally we had Erin’s case against Chuck McMurder. At first I thought this was going to be about whether a song could be considered a confession. Instead it turned out that Chuck the black rapper was actually a white man who grew up in the suburbs. As Erin pointed out, his supposed street cred wasn’t going to help him much in prison…
We both know that you can't do real time. Once exposed you are going to be the busiest punk in the state system, servicing everyone.

Chuck knew it too but I was surprised where his story ended. I was very curious to find out if the real murderer would try to make good on his threats to kill Chuck and his family. It felt like a huge loose end to leave dangling.
