From a murder house... to a mental institution... to a coven... to a carnival... to a hotel.
Where will American Horror Story go next? The guessing games can officially begin now that FX has ordered a sixth season of the unique drama.
The location and the era of the sixth season is yet to be announced, though executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck will return in 2016 to helm the franchise once again.
Said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions, in a statement confirming the news:
“With the sixth installment coming next year, American Horror Story has unquestionably joined the ranks of television’s landmark series.
"From Murder House to Hotel, AHS has pioneered a new television form as well becoming FX’s highest rated show -- while also pushing every conceivable boundary of creative excellence and audacity.
"This is even more remarkable because Ryan and co-creator Brad Falchuk tear up the playbook every year, challenging the entire creative team to come up with something even more spectacular, frightful and entertaining.
"You could not ask more of an artist, their team or a series and with every new installment they deliver.”
Thus far, American Horror Story: Hotel is the highest-rated of all previous version of the series.
The first four installments of the American Horror Story franchise have received 71 Emmy Award nominations and 13 Emmy Award wins, including five Emmy awards for its fourth installment, American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Not too shabby. Which has been your favorite?
