Scream Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Psycho

at .  Updated at .

Things in Lakewood are getting a little out of hand.

On Scream Season 2 Episode 2, Emma continued to try and come to terms with her mysterious dreams, but she quickly realized that not all of it was in her head.

As is common when you've been through something traumatic, you can think about it too much and it can make you question your grip on reality.

We got the reveal that Emma had actually been at the farm in her childhood and it's now clearer than ever that Maggie is not to be trusted.

She tells Emma stuff on a need to know basis and it's going to make Emma hate her for it in the end. She's hiding so many things that it's becoming difficult to keep track of. It would make more sense for her just to come clean about every little detail to Emma before it's too late.

Maggie going to Tina about taking Kieran in was a blatant attempt to get back into Emma's good books and it sucks that Emma didn't see right through it.

The thing that's going to come back to bite Maggie is that her ex-husband is back in town and intent on making a go at a relationship with his daughter. She's between a rock and a hard place and she totally deserves it.

The return of Emma's father was pretty odd. He said that he was trying to find the right time to meet her, so he settled for following her in the dead of night.

That's totally not creepy. Her father is obviously going to have a lot of secrets like her mother and they will probably need to join forces to help find the killer.

One thing that bugged me about the episode was that Jake's death was only revealed to someone at the conclusion of the hour. It slowed down the pace knowing that the group had no idea there was this new killer in town.

Audrey now knows and there's a good chance that she's going to be in the firing line when Jake's body is inevitably found. Her name is on the body, so it kind of speaks for itself.

Audrey is petrified right now that the killer exposes her to her friends, but we still need to find out exactly what she done. Did she kill anyone?

That's the million dollar question and it will let us know if Audrey is really a villain. She looked evil when she called the dude from the motel.

There's also the possibility that she has a split personality and is carrying out the killings herself. It's a bit far out, but it sure seems like this season of Scream will be focusing more on psychology.

Brooke was on a mission to find Jake when he disappeared off the face of the earth, but she got a glimmer of hope when she got a text from him. It can't have been a coincidence that Gustavo just happened to be hanging around the police station listening in to her.

Gustavo: I know all you Lakewood sixers.
Brooke: You numbered us? That's creepy.

I get that his father works there, but it just seemed odd. He seems a little too obsessed with the Lakewood six and it's obvious he's hiding something.

"Psycho" slowed down considerably, but there were some interesting developments. Hopefully we get to see more from the killer next week.

Other tidbits from the episode:

  • Eli and Tina seem nothing more than opportunists. I don't believe that Eli really wanted to stay in Lakewood because the house was bigger. He wants to come between Emma and Kieran.
  • The dude that plays Brooke's dad has got to be the most unconvincing actor. I cringe every single time he's on the screen.
  • That chick who play the prank on Audrey is up to something. There's no way she just shows up for no reason.
  • The teacher is probably going to be the Gail Weathers of the season. She'll be writing some sort of book to further her career.
  • We better get some resolution since this is probably the final season. The premiere managed just 0.4 million viewers!
