Returning Home - Homeland

As if that news isn't enough to perk up our ears, along comes something even better.

Carrie Mathison will be on the case for another two seasons!

Showtime handed out a renewal for Homeland Season 7 and Homeland Season 8. So far, Claire Danes is the only cast member to sign on, but it shouldn't be long before others follow.

The upcoming season of Homeland will be staying fairly close to current events, as Carrie and Saul return to the US and find themselves investigating something out of New York City.

The story will take place between the time of the presidential election and the when the new president, in this case a woman, is sworn into office.

It's a time of change and uncertainty, because nobody knows whether to consult the incoming or outgoing authorities on matters pertaining to the future of the country.

There was also some recent casting news to give us a little bit more insight into what might be at play in the Big Apple.

Hill Harper (CSI: NY) and Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) will be joining the cast in recurring roles.

Hill will be the new Chief of Staff for president-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel).

No, nobody bothered to do a double check on using the name Elizabeth Keane when it so closely resembles (is) the name of the lead character on The Blacklist.

Sabongui will play a university law professor and fierce Muslim American advocate who works alongside Carrie.

Can we please hope this advocate works out better than those of Homeland Season 5? If they weren't lying, they were being killed. It just wasn't a good situation overseas.

If you missed any of Ms. Mathison's previous antics, by all means, watch Homeland online.

And don't go away yet!

There was some more good news from Showtime at the TCAs today. Ray Donovan was renewed for Season 5!

While Ray Donovan Season 4 isn't the best the series has to offer, Liev Schreiber was rightfully nominated for his second best actor Emmy Award this year, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for him.
