Quantico Season 2 Episode 9 Review: Cleopatra

Okay, does anyone understand what just happened?

On Quantico Season 2 Episode 9, Alex appears to have proven to Ryan that she has an AIC phone as well, but she can't have one, can she?

Alex has seen the phones before, if they are in fact the phones that were in Owen's hideaway space, so she could have gone out and bought her own.

She could have also been given one by Owen, if he is recruiting people, when she took him back to his room.

Art of Seduction - Quantico

Quantico pulls off some shocking twists rather well. This is not one of them because it does not make sense. Is Alex playing everyone? It does not seem like Harry knows that Alex was tapped (if she was tapped).

Wow, even trying to talk about this is confusing.

There are so many reveals and twists that work well, even in this episode – Dayana (I think I've been spelling her name wrong, sorry) getting Leon to clean up her dirty work with her mark at the party, and Leon realizing that Shelby/Jane is most like playing him, for instance.

You can't just throw things out there with nothing to help sort of explain or verify it. I kept waiting for Alex to make some comment to Harry like, "thanks for buying that phone for me" or sharing what she got out of her time with Owen. Instead, we got nothing.

You've Been Tapped, What Comes Next? - Quantico Season 2 Episode 9

There's nothing to suggest that Alex's phone is a legit AIC phone, but this is Quantico, so who knows. You would think it would have come up in that interrogation with Hannah. My brain hurts right now.

This episode started out with such promise. Alex being interrogated by the FBI, by Hannah, was absolutely amazing. Hannah was the perfect person to conduct that interrogation because she hates Alex's tendency to just stumble upon things that somehow no one else knows.

Hannah is skeptical of Alex, but she also knows that Alex has been right before. It's a fun dynamic. Sadly, this was not the entire episode.

Hannah: All right, Parrish, what did you get yourself into this time?
Alex: Hannah? What are you doing here?
Hannah: I think the better question is, what are you doing here. The center of a conspiracy that no one magically knows about but you, again? Alex Parrish, national hero in the wrong place at the right time two years running.

The Farm flashbacks are lame. We repeated the Alex and Ryan lying to each other storyline, and for some reason, we were forced to watch Sebastian struggle at being a CIA agent.

Sebastian has just never really worked for me as a character. It's hard to connect with him, partially because of the fact that he's two people, as Alex says, the one we see and the one he hides.

Ah, love - Quantico Season 2 Episode 9

He's definitely got the tortured thing going on, but it's not enticing. It's boring. Stop making me watch scenes where he tries to reconcile his beliefs with the job. Harry can't even save this storyline.

Speaking of Harry, he's essentially the den mother of the trainees.

He spent a lot of time helping Alex with her Owen mission, making sure she stayed on course and had everything she needs. Then, he went to help Sebastian get over himself and succeed at the seduction task.

Alex: You think I want something from you, and the only way I can get it is to sleep with you? Do you know how archaic this whole scenario is? Like the only thing women have to offer is sex, and men are so dumb that they are going to give up anything to get it. I can get whatever I want without having to compromise myself, and if you couldn't, then you weren't a very good operative. You're saying no to a question I'm not asking, which means this is about what you want from me.
Owen: What is it I want from you?
Alex: Permission.

It's so nice to see the recruits looking after one another, isn't it?

When compared to everything that's unfolding in the present, the flashbacks aren't exciting. There's not a whole lot there that captivates your attention. The current terrorist threat, and Alex's quest to stop, it is more intriguing.

What did you think of the episode? Do you have any idea what Miranda could say that would make Alex become one of the terrorists? Leave your thoughts and theories in the comments below.
